I would really want to replay this all time fav of mine. Do you guys know of any (legal) location to download the game to run on W7? I sure couldn't find any.

.

Too bad GOG.com only offers The Journeyman Project: 2 because I would also like to replay the third game with Windows 7.

If it isn't updated for newer systems, I doubt the original retail game will work on a modern PC. At least I've had no luck getting it to run under Win XP or Win 7.

Cheers, Terry

Yeah, I noticed that. So that's why I wondered where to get the updated PC version.... I have JP2 from GOG and it runs flawless on W7, so hey guys@GOG, get a move on!

Btw, I have the dusc version, but I can acknowledge that it won't run on W7.

Did you try it in Virtual PC? It doesn't require a 3D graphics card so it should work there.

To be honest, I'm not really a computergeek, so I shy away from any extensice tweaking. So no, haven't tried Virtual PC yet. Would it be easy to use?

Fwiw: I have Journeyman Project 3 running under WinXP on one of my mini-laptops (Fujitsu 1610). The only special settings I used were 640x480 resolution (set in the shortcut) and 16 bit color.

However, for reasons I don't think anyone has been able to nail down, individual WinXP systems vary enough that some will be able to run certain old games while others won't. (And yes, I'm aware of all the various tweaks that may get a game going, but sometimes nothing works.)

Haven't tried the game under Win7.

The future ain't what it used to be!

The DVD version of Legacy of Time is definitely more well-behaved than the CD version.  I could never get the latter working in Windows XP, but the DVD version worked just fine.  I have likewise not tried kit in Windows 7, but I may as well try right now.  Will write back.

Yip, DVD version works just fine in Windows 7 (32-bit, at least).  Better than it did in Windows XP, for me.

Unfortunately the DVD version for Windows is kind of rare -- at least in the US.

True.  I had a hell of a time getting it, but it was very much worth it: the difference in video quality cannot be overstated.

It will run on XP but i have not built a patch for it yet, if there is time this early winter i will try to get one together, but it will be for XP the classic platform for games past and present, and not for any of the new fangled Windoz upgrade scams.

I aint changing my ways no way. So I will continue to build patches for classic games for XP.

I played the new Mac DVD version of JP 3 a few months ago.  It ran like a dream, and it's still one of my very favorite games.

I never could get the second game (Buried In Time) from GOG to play correctly on my P4. I tried everything to get help from them but never could once they got my cash. I still have the CD version, and so I guess that's all I will get.
