Hmmm tough question. I would probably go with 3 very different games.

1. Elasto Mania - 2d motorbike game with great physics. Has tons of replayability.
2. Football Manager 2011 - You could probably spend years playing this since it has no ending!
3. Mass Effect 2 - One of my all time fave games with a great story and lots of action, unlike the other 2.

And for my rule breaker - my mame cd with 3,500+ arcade games on it

Well, You can't go wrong starting with #1 and playing a bit of all of them, working through to 3.  It's a natural progression, anyway, since 2 adds a bit factionwise, and then 3 builds on that again, and adds a bit more of almost everything.

#1 still feels and looks good in spite of it's age, so it's a good place to start, and to get the "feel" of the games.

I was actually quite surprised when I played HoMM2 for the first time. The sprites in HoMM1 are actually more detailed than the HoMM2 sprites. It is not until you see the vast difference in animation quality that it becomes clear that HoMM2 is the more technically advanced game.

Five years, no internet..... I'd take Obsidian and Aura 1 because those two games had parts that I needed a walkthrough and so I'd spend the time working them out and for the 3rd game, I'd prefer Word.

I'm just trying to work out what I'd done that was so bad, I needed to be exiled for 5 years?  Oh.... can I have chocolate and a man for company too?

LOL .. well, if you had a man there, I'm sure you'd have less time for gaming, huh? You could always eat chocolate while you game, but men tend to be more demanding.

   Aliens could have abducted you.

...so did you ever manage to get Obsidian working again?

I would take an open-world RPG with me so I could play endlessly.. probably Oblivion and also Morrowind.

I'd also take a simulator with me like the Tropico series where I could play in sandbox mode for a long time...

Playing: Skyrim (ongoing)

Last Finished: can't recall, been too long.
