then all Resident Evils... then SH2
You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

SH2 is a good game (especially the pc version, which i happened to see recently - awesome visuals)... but it can't stand comparison to SH1 no matter what - SH1 was better in ALL aspects, except of course gfx

Status : Online | Just curious, I've toyed with the idea of buying a Resident Evil game for the PC, but I have a question for you:
Is the entire game just bashing, slashing and shooting zombies or are there some good story elements as well? I mean something that gives you a reason to bash, slash and shoot the zombies. Also, is any one Resident Evil game better than the next?
OK, I guess I had 2 questions for you guys!

RE is not just meaningless bashing and slashing... there are some adv elements there, that's why this genre is actually called "3d) arcade adventure"... when it comes to which one is the best, i liked RE2 most, but the others come really close... RE1 might look a bit primitive nowadays... i loved it though... bah, i don't know... get all 3 of them!

Seems that the original Resident Evil was part of the 3dfx era and, unless I've missed some critical information, it might not be happy with more recent video cards. That is not a problem with Resident Evils 2 and 3.

Status : Online | Thanks for the opinions guys! I keep picking them up in the game stores because of the horror elements...and then putting them back down, not sure whether or not I would like the 'kill anything that moves' aspect. But now, the next time I see them for a good price I think I'll pick them up!

You're very welcome.
While I'm not about to take a position on the whole Silent Hill vs. Resident Evil question, I can tell you I am currently playing the PC version of Silent Hill 2 and enjoying it tremendously.

You can find a very useful trainer for Silent Hill 2 HERE.
While there is a patch for Silent Hill 2 (fixes sound looping), the trainer only works with the unpatched version of the game. I've had no trouble with audio and, thanks to the trainer, no trouble with dying, either.

| Deleted User | I'm mixed up:
1. Resident Evil 1: Just because it's the first real Horror survival game (Yeah, yeah Alone in the Dark, I know) 2. Silent Hill 2 3. RE Code name Veronica, (I'm still playing it. Really big and very entertaining. 4. parasite Eve 2 5. Silent Hill 1 6. Onimusha 1 (I have the 2 one, but haven't played it yet) And then the others: Parasite 1, RE 2 & Nemisis
I also have fatal frame, but didn't played that one either.
