When I built my new system last week, it didn't come with a power chord and the old chord is needed for something else.  The guy at the PC shop  was out of stock and said that I could use a kettle chord for my PC.   Is this true?

I asked him if the voltage doesn't matter, and he said no, that the voltage is regulated by the PSU.  So...?

Bad idea, or can I?

I would imagine it would work, but personally I'd visit a local shop and pick up power cord.

And, yes - the voltage is regulated by the PSU.

What?

Power Chord?
Isn't that a guitar move?  :-?
