Deleted UserSomething neat that I heard about on NPR.  Best viewed during local daylight hours with natural lighting and when they aren't so sleepy.

Very cool CB, I have to send that link to my hubby, he's deep off into birdwatching.

Thanks!

Deleted UserEarlier I had watched the male eagle drop a fish into the nest (a trout I assume) and then the female began using her claws to tear strips from the fish and then feed them to the young. Innocently graphic but obviously immune to whatever happens in our world, some things just remain the same in nature as I observed the female glancing far and wide while hunkering down with her young for the long night.

From my own experiences in raising chickens, pheasants, and wild turkeys as a kid, all these cute birds really do grow up fast.

I've been watching this one, too, CB.  The parent bird changed position once and I could see the 2 chicks and one unhatched egg.  One chick peeked out and peeped, then decided it was too cold and windy out there and snuggled back under mom.

Nice link, thanks, CB!   I also watched the little chick earlier today.

The visuals didn't change much from a little head peeping out from under a  bunch of feathers, but I found the sounds coming in rather interesting.

One could hear the cheep-cheep of the chick, and then in the background, the sound of traffic and also a helicopter.  How seemingly easily these birds have adpated from the sounds of the wild to this noisy environment.

Here's another web site.  These birds are a bit bigger and now they've started to change color ...and you might see some sibling rivalry among them, which is not the nicest thing o witness.

I did watch the other bunch ride out the near disastrous storm that they lived through.  YIKES!

Hey everyone,

This view of nature is really amazing!  I found a neat site that sends alerts for when the eagles are doing something exciting.  You can check it out at Decorah Eagle Cam Alerts.
It has alerts and a bunch of videos of what has been happening at the nest until now.

Eagle mother dies in plane crash ... The three eaglets which lost their mother Tuesday in a collision with a plane are out of the nest at Norfolk Botanical Garden and will soon be at their new home at the Wildlife Center of Virginia.
