Might be too easy, but here it goes:

A man leaves his house, walks 1km South, then 1km West. There he sees a bear and, frightened to death, he runs 1km North and slams the door of his house shut.

What colour is the bear's fur?

You know, I was asked that one at a job interview, and I figured it out myself pretty quickly.  Can't remember off-hand what else he asked, but the interviewer was generally quite impressed.

Ok, here's one.

I am that which is hunted, and this panes me. Do you dig, Stone?
What am I?

That's an interesting question for a job interview
. What type of job were you applying for, I wonder? I also got it the first time around, but it took me a little while. Same goes for your new riddle. I'll have to think about it some more
...

In the meantime, here's a new one:

"A  man wanted to enter an exclusive club but did not know the password that was required. He waited by the door and listened. A club member knocked on the door and the doorman said, "twelve." The member replied, "six " and was let in. A second member came to the door and the doorman said, "six." The member replied, "three" and was let in. The man thought he had heard enough and walked up to the door. The doorman said ,"ten" and the man replied, "five." But he was not let in.

What should he have said?"

I kept myself from looking it up on Google. 'Twas hard. Have to give up (white flag)  :-?.
So what's the answer
?

Oops!  I kept intending to come back and give you a hint.
The job was in accounting/auditing, btw.  I suppose they wanted to see if there were any lateral thinkers amongst their candidates.)

Well, let me give you a hint on mine.  It's actually a play with puns.  What does one dig in, that also sounds like that which is hunted?

Sorry, but I already know the answer to your second one from a similar but easier riddle, that goes: "What will you find once in a minute, twice in a moment, but never in a thousand years? "

If I'm not mistaken, the principle is similar?

Yeah, I kind of figured that much  :-/. But you rephrasing it finally made it clear to me
: we're talking Spoiler Alertquarry, aren't we?

Nah, I wouldn't have guessed your second one if I hadn't already been prompted by the other riddle.

We could always leave the exact answer to guess for someone else who might come along.

You are correct, my riddle's answer is quarry.  Try this one:  I am very heavy, but backwards I'm not.

Oooh, I think I got it
. It surprises me how it just hit me. Haha...

Good idea, let's not post the exact answers for everyone to see. I'll try the spoiler bar:

Spoiler Alerta ton.

Here's a new one:

What is it that, after you take away the whole, some still remains?

I'm still thinking about your last riddle, vagabond, but in the meantime I just wanted to say that you are quite correct about mine!  It was one that I had found hard to guess myself, but when I found the answer, it seemed pretty neat to me.

Yes, quite neat, indeed! I tried a couple of words Spoiler Alertbackwards but they did not make sense. Then I decided to take it even more Spoiler Alertliterally
. Very nice one.

Any ssolution to my riddle?

Aaargh, the answer just hit me..- it must be Spoiler Alertwholesome?

You know what, I think this riddle thread will do better in the Off-topic area.  I just happened to see your first post here by chance, but nobody really ever comes here, so I think that nobody sees these posts here.

How would I go about moving it? Or do the admins have to do that? Haven't got a clue  :-? :

Theoretically the admins would have to move it to move it if you want it exactly as it is now, but it might be easier if you just started  a thread with the same name in the off-topic section, and copy-pasted your last riddle to that thread, or your last post or two.

I'll then copy and paste my own last few posts from this thread there too, if you like.

I'll also wait and hold back on posting a new riddle until you've decided what you want to do.  I honestly don't think anybody is seeing us down here.

If you really want to move the entire thread as is, we'll have to PM one of the admin people.

Well, I think I'll just start a new thread and link back to here in case anyone wants to see the thread we created so far in its entirety.

What does Vagabond mean?
Nature's first green is gold,&&Her hardest hue to hold.&&Her early leaf's a flower;&&But only so an hour.&&Then leaf subsides to leaf.&&So Eden sank to grief,&&So dawn goes down to day.&&Nothing gold can stay.
