I had such an ugly face in the original 2 Worlds, that I am now totally enamoured with the noggin I managed to get in TW2.   [smiley=cheesy.gif]

The only beef I have with the character models this time around, is that the male human figure seems to have very puppet -like arms.  Also, the devs seem to have copy-catted those "overdone" gestures that Pirhana Bytes who made the first 3 Gothic games also seem to love!

The game world looks pretty good, with lots of nice textures and light effects, though there sometimes is a bit too much bloom at sunset.  On this picture, it's quite easy to see what I mean by the "puppet-like" look for human male bodies.  Men playing this are more lucky, since the female bodies absolutely rock.. ( well, I personally think, - but perhaps men would have liked even more ample chests, however some of these females could just as well be walking around topless...  [smiley=blush.gif]  )

..and there is an interesting system for magic, which though nice, might prove to be cumbersome.  We'll see.  Here's an Orc mage throwing around some magic.

Sigh. I just cannot get enough of myself!  This is actually a better pic of me, I think, hmm?  8-)

Hah, I bet you want me to post a pic of the scantily dressed prophetess, don't you?  Well she has got a nice body, but her face is not so nice..

I'v not really had time to game this week, but will make a plan again soon, at least by Saturday.

The distant lands did not come out so well in that screenshot, but it does give you an idea of how large the game world feels.

Is there variety to the world? I stopped playing the game for DA2/Total war shogun 2 but I'm wondering if there's variety to the enviornment (IE snowy area's, forest, etc).

Judging from some of the screenshots of the game that can be found online, the game looks like it has plenty of variety in its locations.

Apparently street musicians makes a lot of money in this world. I made over 2000 by playing in a crowded tavern.

Street musicians do indeed get a lot of money. Gathering weapons & armour from fallen foes does not seem to be the way to get rich in this game.

New region! After a very lengthy first chapter, I have now reached chapter 2. Judging from the map, this island looks like it is slightly smaller. I can still visit the island in chapter 1.

Might I recommend that you at least partially play as a mage? The magic system is quite interesting in two worlds 2 as once you get into it, you have a lot of freedom in how to create your own spells. Not as much as in say Daggerfall, but still far more than in most other games.

Also, two worlds 2 seem to be one of the few games where money is actually important, at least if you play as a mage. There are a lot of things to pay, so it is worth spending a bit of time gathering money. Also, weapons & armour that enemies drop is not worth a whole lot early on in the game. It is not until you get to the second large island that you do actually get more than a few coins for a sword.

I'm about 3/4 through and there is a diversity of enviornments but unfortunately no snow areas. What I've seen thus far:

1) Tropical Isle
2) African Savanna/plains
3) Swampland
4) Middle Eastern City
5) Asian City
6) Costal Areas

thanks Fnord, for the suggestion, i had a lot of trouble making the first amulet for the ice spell so i may take some more time to try to figure out the magik system first... i am still getting the feel of things but i appreciate the suggestion.

Just got to that last monster and they did a Risen on us.

Totally different end game game play knocked this game down from an A to a B. After (if) I beat this thing, the game is set up so you can still go to some of your unfinished quests. And that is the only reason I am going to try.

After some experimenting I discovererd that while you can not enter the main island you can completedly go around it via the coasts. Call me crazy but I would like to end my game with the Fog of War removed from all  of the main island coast.

I wish I could find an exploit for this end game monster. I sure am tired of developers thinking this kind of world changing end game is a good thing.

I agree the super bosses are so boring that I dont bother really unless i really have to, i have been battling the final boss of Anachronox for a week now..off and on, have made it almost to the very end but what a pain. Angel of Darkness Tomb Raider is the same way, the final boss is really unbeatable..but luckily there are save games for that one. No one plays anachronox any more so i have to get there on my own...with a lot of patience. good luck. Sorry to hear that Two Worlds 2 dropped the ball. the world does look nice.  The opening fly over was very intriguing and I hope i get to see all those ships in person.

Sorta wrapped up 2W2. I used a game cheat (invincible) and even then it still took me about 10 minutes to beat the monster. I think I could eventually beat it if I had the right type of practice to defeat the end boss but it was a total twitch affair at the end.

Just so ya know, my game reflexes are so lame, I typically can't get out of a space sim tutorial level. Yep - so wat ya gonna due.

In any event after the end boss and a couple movies you are thrown back into the game to finish up any quests.

But here is something I discovered. The bulk of the main island is basically reserved for multiplayer, however you can completely  encircle the main island/coast with your single player and there are a number of surprises to be found if you explore. (this can also be done before the end game). I just about finished circling the Island but have moved on to Divinity 2.

Well due to the horrible, twitch affair end boss I have to knock the game down to a B+. I had a good time with Two Worlds 2, but the end game boss left a bitter after taste and last impressions can be most damning.

Ooh, well, you're in for a treat, I'd say.  Sometime when i have time, I'll be restarting this game using the Dragon Knight Saga expansion pack.

Sorry to hear that Dajjer, i still plan to put some time into Two Worlds 2 but i do find that many modern games even epic ones with amazingly beautiful worlds tend to be a bit thin in the plot story line department, i wish we had some of the great story spinners of 20 years ago like Tom Hall and others of the early game generations to play with modern game graphics....

can you still fire up multiplayer and get into the centre of the island on your own if you want to explore? i hate being forced into multi player to see a game... but just wondered.

Back when Far Cry was the cat's pajamas, there were enough great Single Player maps like the great Matto series Matto 4 is the BEST of them all, to enjoy without having to go into the multiplayer slash and bash sessions of virtual biker gang types...  and you could still enjoy the beautiful game graphics without having to get into all of that fighitng.

.

I haven't played a multiplayer game in over 10 years, So I have no idea how it works with Two Worlds 2. But the main island is huge and going around the thing will take quite a while. As far as I can tell, when you are in single player mode you can not enter the main island. There are a number of spots along the coast where you can kinda sneak in, but when you get too far inland, you are thrown back on to the coast lands.

This game is still full price.. just wondering what it's like...

I read a review that says it's fun if you can get past the first bit... ?

It is very nice - I haven't had time to play much of it, but why don't you wait a few weeks more?  I'm sure when The Witcher 2 comes out, the price of this one will go down.    [smiley=evil.gif]

I bought the first one for a song because I waited a bit.

One question. Better than Risen or not? And do I need to play the first part in order to enjoy this one?
Nature's first green is gold,&&Her hardest hue to hold.&&Her early leaf's a flower;&&But only so an hour.&&Then leaf subsides to leaf.&&So Eden sank to grief,&&So dawn goes down to day.&&Nothing gold can stay.
