Yes, it is true, due to my ongoing health issues I have sold Just Adventure.  I have no doubts that the new owner will continue forward in the same tradition, so please provide him with your support.

As for Len Green, I didn’t ask him to not post anything about my health.  I was planning on contacting everyone personally over time, but it is taking longer than I expected.

And no, I am not at death’s door.  But I am on chemo again as a tumor has reappeared in my back.  The chemo itself is hard enough to handle but I have now also been blessed with a large kidney stone, for which I’ve undergone two procedures, and a case of gout.  I have no doubts, none, that I will beat all of this, but my concentration is truly shot to heck and while the pain meds help with the pain, they also add to my lack of concentration.

I have promised the new owner that I will write some articles that have been on the backburner for years and also continue to offer advice and support.  I will not entirely disappear.

Finally, thank you everyone for visiting and supporting JA over the past 10+ years.  It truly has been an honor to watch the site grow from receiving a hundred visitors a day to the point where JA was receiving tens of thousands of visitors a day.  Long live the adventure genre!!

Randy, great to hear from you!  We're all pulling for you and know that if anyone can pull through, its you.

As for Len, I think most people know when its not their place to make such statements even if they weren't told to not say anything which was most upsetting of all.

Can't wait to read your future articles!

Yes, I've heard that kidney stones are painful enough to make a grown man faint.

Well, what a relief to hear from you, Randy!

All the best with your chemo and with the other painful problems, an really looking forward to see what you're going to write for us when you feel better.

..and thank you so much for taking the time and effort to write to us and say hi!   [smiley=thanks.gif]

.

It is really great to hear from you, Randy.

We're all very happy to learn you will remain a part of JA+. But mostly we are relieved to know that you are focusing primarily on your health.

As for Len, I truly believe he meant well. However, he should have been more discreet and at least asked you if it was okay to announce the sale.

Cheers, Terry

Good to hear from you, Randy. Hope you feel better soon.
I'm looking forward to more of your articles, they are always a joy to read.

Just Adventure is the website that brought me back to Adventure games, so I am glad that it will still be running, even if under new management.

On that note, I would like to welcome the new owner and wish him good luck!

It is a darn shame that you have to go through even more chemo.
I wish you the best of luck with your treatment. Hopefully you will be back on your feet soon. And welcome to the new owner.

Thank you for posting here, Randy, and letting us know how things are going.  I hope this rocky road you've been traveling will smooth out soon.  Be well, and keep in touch when you feel up to it.

Wonderful to hear from you, Randy. I'm sorry that you've had to sell the site, but it's more than understandable given the situation. You've shown incredible strength and determination in everything you've faced, and I hope and pray better times are ahead for you.

Good to hear you'll continue to write for the site. Looking forward to it!

Good to see you here Randy and glad that you'll be able to continue to be a part of the gaming community here as much as you can.

Though I hated to see it get sold I understand completely, you need to concentrate on yourself and family. Even with the great people you have helping you here it would always have to be some kind of worry that you might have to deal with.

Anyway, I wish you and your family nothing but the best.

Hi Randy. I'm very sad to hear that you're selling JA, but very happy to see that you're going to stick around with us all for a whole lot longer.

You know very well that you gave me nothing but helpful and honest encouragement when my fledgling project, Adventure Point UK, started a few short years ago, and I will always be eternally grateful to you for that.

Just Adventure was my inspiration just as it has undoubtedly been your passion-filled perspiration.

I can only hope to succeed in a small fraction of the way in which you have in an exemplary way your tireless work and devotion here.

You're doing the right thing Randy. Health and family always comes first. It must! Just don't forget us okay?!

Fondest regards,

Gelert.

I just spoke to Randy on the phone and he says he's feeling pretty good right now. He definitely sounds good, and we even shared some laughs.

He'll be having more chemo shortly, though, which always takes a lot out of him. But as I've said before, Randy's a fighter. If there's anyone who can get through this kind of stuff, it's him. I let him know he's definitely missed at JA.

Hey Karla,

Thanks for giving us an update. I am glad to hear he seems in good spirits.

I hope his next chemo isnt to hard on him. I will keep him in my prayers.

Hello there dude.  We haven't ever had any dialogue to my recollection.  Just the way things are.  Still I wish to do several things.  Wish you to have a good and positive frame of mind in dealing with those adversities that life brings to all of us in different ways.

I wish you to keep your spirits up, and know that you can always talk to any and all of us here at JA to cheer your spirits up and listen to anything you want to tell us.

Second, I wish to thank you for creating this forum that is in a way a home away from home to many of us.  At least to me in a kind of way.
Whether is bantering and slogging it with others  here, or getting a few good laughs, or whatever serious ideas or points of view.  It is grand to have a place to land and interact with others who have similar tastes in games and adventure wonderlusts on the games that we play, talk about, and harp about.

I kind of think of this place like a type of electronic bistro, that you come to have a cup of coffee and apple pie, and wind up having a great meal sometimes.....figuratively speaking.  And likewise staying and sharing good stories and life events with others.

Thank you man for doing this for all of us.  Specially in these times where some people think of adventure games and their like as nothing less than vestiges of a bygone era.

Little do they know Randy.
