Opening words
If you love hidden object games, have you ever wondered: if only I can bring it with me so I won’t get bored while… waiting on the subway, having break time, got nothing better to do, and so on.
Well, now you can bring your hidden object game with you everywhere you go! Thank God!
At first I was pessimistic that there is a hidden object game on a phone! Since the phone screen is much smaller than monitors, then how do you play a hidden object game on a phone screen?
But after I scanned the QR codes and played the game, I was amazed that it actually worked! Although it was limited considering the size of the phone screen, the game designer cleverly positioned objects that were viewable to me and tap-able as well.
This game is released in 2 versions, the Temple Seeker Lite and The Temple Seeker Full versions. The temple Seeker Lite is like a demo version of the game. The developer of this game, Net-m, gave us-players-a 3 free levels to play, while the full version has a total of 8 levels altogether.

The Story
The story is about a young lady who received a letter from her recently deceased grandfather. In the letter, the grandfather told her about a mysterious ancient temple. The young lady driven by her curiosity, decided to go on an adventure to find this ancient temple as mentioned in her grandfather’s last letter.
During her adventure, she was not alone. Some bad people were following her, trying to prevent her from acquiring her goal. How she can outsmart those people is really up to you to decide!

The Gameplay
Temple Seeker is not like those classic hidden object PC games where level by level’s gameplay consists only of objects hidden on a still screen. What makes this game interesting is, some levels are designed for hidden object gameplay but in a unique way.

There is a level which I have to ‘shoot’ shadows that are hiding then reappearing individually or simultaneously over the screen.

There is another unique level which I have to ‘catch’ the moving picture. In this level, on the phone screen there is a picture of the current level, and there is another small screen on the upper right hand side that shows the camera movements.  The camera will zoom in and move from one part of the picture to another part of the picture. The objective is to ‘capture’ the exact spot that was shown on the mini screen by tapping the phone screen with my finger while the camera is moving. Sounds easy? Well, at least not for me! I repeated this level quite a lot before I finally passed it.

There is also the spot the difference game. In this level, two almost identical pictures are placed side by side on the phone screen. Some parts on those two pictures are made different. Once I found the odds, I have to tap on that particular spot to mark it.  If I tapped the correct spot, a red circle will appear surrounding the object/spot. The spot the difference game in Temple Seeker is fun and challenging. Some are very cleverly thought and not easy to find.

The Graphics

Temple Seeker is beautifully done with a nice clean touch. The picture is very clear and the objects are easy to spot. The story continues as the level goes on with pictures of characters having a conversation.

The Audio
The audio fits perfectly with the hidden object theme with nice music and sound effects.
From Gamers’ Perspective
From my perspective, this is a really nice hidden object game for android phones. Naturally I cannot expect it to be as long or as many items as the PC’s hidden object game. With the limited things you can do for a mobile game, the developers already did a great job with this one.  I am only hoping that in the future, cellphone games can be more advanced. Perhaps Nitendo or PSP can be combined together with a phone that way gamers can play with maximum fun and have their cellphone with them as well.

I also agree that Temple Seeker should have at least 12 levels instead of just 8 levels. Although it is a bit short than the usual 12 levels hidden object games out there, I still consider it to be a good start for Net-m since it is their first hidden object game on android phone.
