Still, having a foot like that can be a literal pain as well as a pain in the neck. Reminds me of the time I hurt my ligaments and foot bones during sport (they didn't actually break, but they had to be kept still and in alignment) and also hobbled around in gypsum and with crutches for a good few weeks. Like you say: Fun!
..and Lady Kestrel also broke her foot or leg not too long ago as I recall, on a step or some such.
Step carefully, people!
Hope you recover soon, Stiler! [smiley=wave.gif]

All you can do is rest, keep it elevated Im guessing, and make the best of it and get some serious gaming in.
Im no big fan of pain meds myself and only over the past few years have started to take them when I just cant take it anymore. Its a little easier for me to take them now but I usually dont until I really need to. :-/
Maybe just some otc Ibuprofen would be helpful?
Hope you feel better soon.

Hope your recovery is swift and not too painful. But where is TN? Is that The North? :-?

Hah, shovel snow, I was gonna go sledding and riding on atv's with some friends later that day.
TN = Tennessee, as Helen pointed out being the state famous for Graceland and Country music.

| Deleted User | Seems like the trend to date is for more snow in the SE US recently where it seems in some cases they are not often prepared for such as reported by my Aunt who lives in Gallitin outside of Nashville.
Relax now, catch up on your games and mend up per doctor's advice Stiler. That same storm system you mentioned re-developed along the Atlantic coast and then dumped twenty-two inches on my location a short time later. Due to fallen tree limbs our power went out Thursday night and was finally restored this AM. I was able to save all of my frozen foods and garden vegetables from the freezer by moving them to the cellar bulkhead, not a significant change since the temperature dropped to minus six F last night. Winter sucks.

Aha! So that's where you got to! I was wondering what happened to you, so good to see you back on the forum!
Hm, I've got a sister living in TN, so I suppose I'll get a phone call from my mother later today to tell me all about the snow they're having... :

I read an article a few days ago about a report from the National Weather Service stating that 49 out of the 50 states (except for Florida) had snow on the ground with 70.9% of the country estimated to have been covered in snow.

Wish your foot heals well, and that you wont have any lingering problems or complications in the future. Wish you the best. If you have to use crutches later on, try to get the canes that wrap around the forearm. They are more stable and a great deal more comfortable to use.

I hope at least you have some great games handy to help passing the time!
Hang in there!

As Trav mentioned, I broke my ankle and had surgery in Dec. 2009, so I understand the frustration. I had never broken a bone until then, either. To make things worse, I couldn't even blame the ice, just my two left feet.
Fortunately, I missed the snowstorms this month. I was on a theater trip in London, and we just had a lot of rain there. However, coming back yesterday, the landscape from the air was white from Canada to Newark International and further south. Today we had rain in my part of NJ, which has reduced some of the bigger piles and washed away some of the icy spots.

So glad you got to go on your theatre trip after missing the one previously. So.... you gonna tell us what you saw or do we have to come over there and sit on you?

Ouch, glad I didn't have to have surgery at least. Just wondering, after a few days did your calf muscle start to really hurt?
The past two days I've been having a permanent "charly horse" type of pain in my calf muscle, where the ligament feels really tight from my calf muscle to my foot if I bend/stretch it. Been doing the exercises my doc told me to do after a few days but man does it hurt now. Feels like someone just grabbing your muscle and tugging on it over and over.

I took painkillers while in the hospital and at night for about another week after I got home, but after that, acetaminophen did the trick.

He told me some routines of exercises to do so that it heals with enough "length" to it. So I have to like lift my leg and write the alphabet and things with just my ankle, etc.
I have some pain meds but I don't like taking them (had a bad incident with them in the past, try my best to stay away from them).
Was just wondering if you experienced the same with yours, guess it's a bit different with a completely broken one.

Status : Offline | Thanks for the wishes. The pain has gotten less and less as the days have went by. I can start to put weight on it now, but I can't stand for that long of a time. I can hobble around now without crutches but for anywhere out and about I have to use them.
Haven't been doing much gaming actually. I can't leave my foot in one "position" for too long, it starts to ache/hurt, so I have to constantly switch it up every 15 minutes or so, not really that easy to do at a computer desk. So I've been mainly watching movies through netflix and things to pass time.
Sucks too, I got two worlds 2 in the mail literally one day after my accident, only got through about 15 minutes of it and haven't been able to get back into yet.
One of the times I wish I had a fairly decent gaming laptop , that'd be a lot easier to play on atm.

I do have a laptop and I know that sometimes when my back starts acting up its the best cuz I can pretty much sit anywhere in a position thats comfortable for me.
Hope today's alot better than yesterday.
