.. LOL  you guys crack me up...

All the previous TES games had  cures though...  so why wouldn't Skyrim?

Ok, I checked it out.. there's good news and bad news.

The good news is, you can cure it by becoming Spoiler Alerta werewolf

If you’ve contracted the disease, you won’t become a vampire for three days. Until then, you can get rid of the disease with any Cure Disease potion or blessing, but I guess you're past that by now, so now you can:

Visit any inn.Spoiler AlertThey will send you to Morthal to speak to a man named Falion. Then you need to do the Rising at Dawn quest.  Sounds interesting!

I hated that when it happened in Morrowind the first time ..i got scared... same in Oblivon..nasty stuff...

well good luck with that .....

a buddy of mine got one of the add on houses and parked his new horse in the yard and was enjoying the view when a dragon dropped out of the sky and toasted his horse. BAM...

he did not even get a chance to ride it

life is tough in there

the new Construction Kit has bugs, and a rather severe limit to the size of new land you can make...hope they get it fixed.

Yes, my horse is also dead after all the mollycoddling I've done in trying to keep him alive, and this time I just left him dead.  I saluted and ran off.  Had enough of silly horses for a while.

The cure quest is not interesting at all, so there's no fun in becoming a vampire to get that quest.

I decided to join the dark brotherhood and see what interesting quests come up

I started that path on my previous playthrough, but i didn't really like the Spoiler Alertcompanion's questlines, too repetitive.

And the ability to turn into a werewolf is not very useful. If your character can fight in melee, then turning into a werewolf is almost always a bad idea. And the 3rd person perspective that you are forced into when you transform is not well suited for combat in Skyrim, it just feels awkward.

I did most of the Companions questline first, it's really boring. I can confirm what Fnord said, my character is melee and turning into Spoiler Alerta werewolf gets her killed within seconds. That ability is useless, except that it keeps you from getting diseased.

The ability actually has one more use, and that is if you want/need to kill someone who you can't legally attack. If you turn into a werewolf out of sight and then attack the target, you won't get a bounty, no matter how many sees you commit the act (if someone spots you turn into a werewolf, or when you turn back,  the bounty will still be applied though)

So there are two uses, Spoiler Alertmurder and getting cured of vampirism...

I agree. Other then the known uses I find the ability pretty much useless especially considering the current level of my character's melee abilities. Even though I was Spoiler Alertforced to wear Hircine's ring I was still able to complete Ill Met by Moonlight without transforming.

LOL, I'm probably the only one here who plays entirely in 3rd PP.

NOPE. I find it weird when people play it in first person. 3rd PP all the way, and not only because 1st PP makes me motion-sick within seconds (but I do use it for looting).

Turning into a werewolf to take down someone works if your target is a civilian

There are at least two quests where this is the case). Just don't try to kill any guards, just go in, kill your target, and then run as fast as you can.

And I really could not use the 3rd person perspective in combat, the camera did not agree with me. It was nice to use it while riding around the countryside though.

So getting back to this, I entered an inn and wandered about while picking up a few bottles of unwanted ale and mead. From a previous quest I knew that I only needed three or four to do the job, but just to be sure I also bought out the bartender's entire inventory of various types of mead and wine. Cut to the chase, well after consuming everything in my possession I just didn't feel any different, nor did the barkeep's opinion change not even an extra rumor. Perhaps next time...

I suppose it could also be just like IRL. I can't get drunk on beer and wine, my bladder just won't tolerate it.

Cris, I didn't want to contradict you before but not all of Skyrim is dark and depressing.

Talking to the barmaid whilst being drunk is usually not a problem, but ignore the other patrons! I've gotten into a drinking contest last time with some unforseen consequences

Welcome to the wonderful world of Skyrim. You probably missed most of the major bugs by waiting a bit.

You know I couldn't pass up on that one...ah the humiliation...say, I did what? Oh well, I'll clean up.

I haven't encountered any game breaking bugs yet during my second playthrough.

Just some minor issues, like not getting a reward for completing a quest and one npc that seems to have vanished into oblivion.

Welcome Chris!

Well, there's tons and tons to do in Skyrim, without even a single mod, believe me!

Welp I dived back in.

Ended up doing Forsworn conspiracy quest, was surprised how that one turned out.

But I kind of want to restart because I definitely want to play a Thalmor and my chocies haven't been very Thalmor-like. Or I'll hope and wait for a DLC that lets me side with them somehow. idk. I'm really determined to side with them, lol.

It is a remarable game world, they made some excellent choices about design and what to focus on to give the ambience....and the world is beuatiful....  i am currently enjoying one of the largest and most challenging Dungeon Crypts I have had the pleasure to be beaten, stabbed, bitten, smacked, attacked and scared witless in....that place is HUGE...and i got al lthe way thru to an important part without finding an important artifact....     now i have to go back and do it again

amazing lighitng and design ..Bethesda really has found a way to show the  classic Conan style RPG world in awesome detail.

with the Nexus Mod manager things re working well.
