I'll definitely want to look at those in the morning. I find my character, despite my best efforts, to look pretty ugly, and awfully butch. Compared to my Oblivion character my Skyrim character looks mean and joyless. Sigh...

Anyway, I'm angry D: I bought all the home upgrades and decided to start manual decorating. So I placed a bunch of stuff on shelves, spent hours moving them in the right position etc. I left home, came back... just to find everything thrown around on the floor. Rooms reset or something, so everything just "drops" once it loads. WHY? Why would you give me a home, an option to move items and then ruin everything with shitty physics?! On top of it, you have to 'bump' items into things to make them rotate into the right position. Ughhhh to hell with this :|

Mods: I'd really love a new world map. I hate this interface. They tried to plop icons (that all look alike) over a realistic 3D terrain.   oesn't work.
Have to say I miss the focus of the Guilds and focused quests. I'm busy, but a bit lost and wondering what the story is. I am not enthralled by the "dragons coming alive" story.
The attitude of many characters is out-right mean. In Oblivion, the grouchy types were at least on your side, urging you along. In Skyrim, too many people threaten to kill you. Very bleak. More so than Fallout 3.
So I'm loving the depth of missions and wonderful graphics, and not liking the story vision or writing at all. I was always happy playing Oblivion. This game is humorless and dour. So far. 18 hours in.

Graphics can be dark and grim without being dull which, unfortunately, they are. The game looks very washed out unless it's night time. Waiting for texture mods to fix that. As for the story/characters, yeah, it's weird... people get angry easily. All I wanted was one chicken leg and the entire village got angry with me for anninhilating that chicken. Not fun

I know, right? I poked around the Intenret and apparently Oblivion had the same issue. The room just resets. I left a companion at home (using the "Wait here" command, I think he would have returned to his hometown if I'd dismissed him) and he "fell" from the ceiling, too. Awkard.

I think it's just the akward physics that make decorating your house impossible.
I messed around with a firefly in a jar, no matter how much i bumped it around i never got it into an upright position

Status : Offline | either i ran into a bug or i'm not sure how the dragon shouts work:
I've found 5 words so far and absorbed 5 dragon souls. But i can only use 2 shouts, the other 2 are grayed out and the text in the left hand corner says '4 dragon souls' ?!
Shouldn't i be able to use all 5 words ??

Status : Offline | i've got a sort of noob question concerning alchemy.
everytime I try to make a potion, I mix some ingredients (randomly) and then it says I failed.
i think it has something to do with the fact that I do not know what are the effects of the ingredients (mushrooms, herbs, etc).
so, how do I learn to make real potions?

first you have to consume each item once, so you'll learn one effect.
Then when you've got two items with matching effects you can select them both and create a new potions.
As you make potions you'll discover the other effects of the ingredients used

You discover what affects an item has by doing various things. To discover what the "first" affect it has, you have to eat one of that item. Then to discover other affects you mix and match potions, basically going through trial and error.
If you odn't want to do that, you can use a guide, such as:

That guide will prove useful, thanks

If you walk/run long distances with characters, their random monologues are nice. But, wow, everyone has a problem and a quest, right? Get out of the pub and knock on some doors yourself!
Anyone explore the Daedric house in Riften (I think it was Riften). ?

The first one was Daggerfall, which contained a possibility of finding a dragon in a certain quest, plus there were the dragonlings, and you could learn the language of the dragons (all that did was make the dragonlings not attack you on sight). And there was also a large intelligent dragon in Redguard.

There are hotkeys, once you add an item to your favorite hover over it with your mouse,t hen hit a number key, it'll assign that item to that number. Then you can simpyl press it to equip that item.
I'm glad I found this out, makes switching from sword/shield to healing a lot easier.

Status : Offline | Today: companion misfortune. I lost my dear Faendal :[ He didn't die, but he got bugged... wouldn't stop crawling after one point and I was forced to dismiss him. Sigh. I took Lydia with me, but she died pretty quickly. One good thing came out of it, though: I think I figured out my house decoration problem! See, I moved some stuff around, returned... and the stuff was still there! Intact! So I decorated my house again and it stayed that way. Until. I walked in and some random NPC was exiting (WTF was he doing in my home?!) - some of the things were thrown around, but most of it was where I left it. So, I think it's the NPCs that can throw your items around. There's no-one livning inside now that Lydia has died, but I'm scared of these random people entering my home :[
Encountered my first bug - got a quest to kill someone, but I'd already killed them. I had to use "resurrect" command on their corpse to kill them again and finish the quest. So, Trav, I think you might have to use "reurrect [NPC #]" command... perhaps it would also work if you know their name? I only used it on a corpse I could select.
Now that we're getting all necromantic... I'm tempted to run back where I left Faendal and see if resurrect command can reset him to stop crawling and join me again :/

That only happens when that person stands close to the door of my house, when i enter it seems that all npc's in your close area move into your house too, i gues they do this so followers follow you into the area you enter?
