You start with Triss regardless of who you chose! I am yet to see my TW1 choices have any kind of impact other than random mentions here and there. So, don't restart your game, everything is fine.
Oh! That's a relief... I was starting to freak out because I didn't want to start the game in the wrong way lol... I'll press on then!
By the way, can anyone help me finding the witcher ending spoilers thread please?

I seem to have lost my Witcher ending savegame, and decided to play the default game without importing a save. This way, I have a reason to replay...

Sure. There you are... http://justadventure.com/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1228933680/35#35
PS. This game does look incredibly beautiful if you have the hardware to run it... 8-)

Some of us are playing with mouse sensitivity set to zero. Moving the slider to the right seemed to help me on these particular minigames.

I totally missed that. I guess my head is not in the gutter as much as I thought.
Ines, setting mouse sensitivity to zero in that .ini file helped me a bunch. Arm wrestling is really easy for me. Poker, though, is impossible and I decided to just not follow those quests -_-

I guess the fact that I'm playing with a touchpad doesn't help much....
I'll explain! I'm not at home, I'm in a dorms.. and I lack a proper table here so I have to play in bed! (Too much information? lol )

[OT] EDIT: Giiirl, I just checked your location - I was in Portugal last year! Lucky you. I hope you're not dying of heat over there. I certainly did :-X [/ OT]

Also Trav, If you are gonna upgrade HD's, I'd go for Solid State Drives.

Oh, btw, Stiler, what are your current specs at the moment?
I'll definitely rather be waiting for the prices to go down on SSD's (i hope it does soon) - the speeds on those things are a huge improvement on the older technology.
(I'm also now wishing that I rather went for a Radeon with more RAM, but hey, I shouldn't complain, if you manually up the game specs, the game looks awesome!)

With poker, start practicing against the easy guys. It seems the dice games are graded in difficulty depending who you play against. To avoid the dice from rolling off, hold the dice on the far left of the board, and make the tiniest movement with your mouse before clicking for it to roll.
@Inesrocks: I'm assuming that is Celsius, not Fahrenheit.. 14 C is quite cool for summer, but look at it this way: it's better than having temps in the 40's!

I tried playing against the most basic guys (others refuse to play with you until you beat them) and I still can't win. They do the last roll, re-roll ALL of their dice and regularly beat mine by some kind of magic! It's annoying and I refuse to play. >

Status : Offline | In brief, this has been the most authentic and realistic game experience I've ever had. And I'm only starting.. When you compare this with the blandness and uninspired setting of DA2 it really makes you laugh, this is so superior!
I'm only having a bit difficulty with the combat movements, Geralt just seems to jump around like crazy from enemy to enemy without me being comanding him to do so, but I found a way to make things easy, by pressing Alt you focus on only one enemy at a time and things seem to go smoothier that way. Also, this is ridiculous but I suffer when I have to make him climb stairs, he just runs around and it's hard to make him stop at the right spot..

Current quest: Hung Over. It would be great to find my stash under a rock, but no I have to return to the brothel. :

Did this come after the girl soldier asked you to throw darts or something, and then you get offered a beer? I declined on both counts, the first because I needed to save my game first just in case and the drinking because I remember the horrid consequences of being drunk in the first game.

No, I discovered this one when I was out looking for Shiella (sic) the sorceress to discuss the Kayran. I found Roche and some of his commanders in one of the inns and, well, one thing led to another. I know what you mean about not having saved in a while and suddenly find yourself facing that kind of decision.

(nothing too serious that a few coins can't get Geralt back on the straight and narrow) As a consequence though, I did have a pleasant conversation with Ves, interesting girl.
P.S. I should remember this from W1, but how do I progress the game such that I get more vigor bars?
