There was a livestream conference yesterday and holy crap. They actually finished the game now, Act 3 looks amazing and they added 4 hours of gameplay to it, new characters and missions. Ffffff-
I've been Witcher-fasting since November and I'm trying not to read too much about new content nor watch the videos (they released the new CGI intro). AH. ALL MY WILLPOWER. But it's going to be worth it :')
4 HOURS?? *gulp* Oooh.... I wonder if I'd be able to import a game from the current W2? I can't remember now if you could do it with the first Witcher Enhanced, since I'd finished the game long before the enhanced came out, and started a new game in the enhanced ed.
I've been playing Skyrim in my off time, but I am starting to miss TW, I must say.

They added a forest in Loc Muinne, there are screenhots of King Radovid's boat (scene looks pre-Act 3, that's all I'm gonna say), there is a doe in one of the screens too, meaning they finally remembered to put some animals into the game
I am so excited about it! ;A;

April 17 is still a long way off, so don't infect me, that's too long for me to stay excited all the time!
I think i'll try and last for another week, and then I'll pick up my replay again and try to str-e-t-ch it out into April...

The EE version will release on 17th of april as known. The d/l will be 10gb for people to patch it (lots of new /reworked assests, added content, 30minutes of cinematics, etc).
you can pre-load this patch and d/l most of it minus a couple hundred mb that will unlock on the 17th.
Also a very nice move, they are going to let ANYONE who has bought the Witcher 2, rather it be retail at a physical store, or via Steam, etc connect their game key to gog and will then allow them to have The Witcher 2 on their gog account so you can download the game from there anytime you want, DRM free.

Yes, yes, i realise it, but that dld is so large.. i'll see how much it costs - i like to support CDProjektRed.
When The Witcher 1 Enhanced came out, i bought the disc version of the enhanced, (which came with a few nice goodies IIRC?) and gave my copy of the original to someone as a gift, who took it upon himself then, to download the patch and patch the copy i gave him to have the enhanced version.
i haven't checked the prices yet - it all depends on how much it will cost me to buy a disc version, otherwise i'll just dld. (But it's going to be a fiasco, I tell ya...) Though i presume they'll anticipate a huge increase in traffic- after all, they handled that Xmas sale quite well, i must say. (GOG, i mean - i presume they'll be using the GOG server for this..?)
Actually, if you think about it, it's almost criminal that they're charging nothing for it, and ppl like EA charge for the smallest item dld.

Also the gog backup is available, just input your cd key to their site and it'll add to your account:

Where's Donna, I wonder?
EDIT: Anyway, I'm totally convinced by now that CDPR are completely mad! To give all of this away for free..
Now my biggest problem is trying to decide if I'm going to restart or carry on with a save.... I'll have to research exactly where new content was inserted... hmmm... Nothing in the Prologue it would seem, anyway. I wouldn't want to redo that yet again...

Oops, no, that's an old post. I think I'm going to reload a save close to the end of Act 1.

Do NOT delete/reinstlal the game and waste all that time + Bandwidth.
All you have to do is d/l part 1 and 2 here:
http://en.thewitcher.com/ee_manual/
Put them into the same folder you downloaded the patch, then run the patcher again.
I almost starte dto d/l it again before I saw this post on the witcher forums/others.

I just managed to slay enough Spoiler Alertghosts, (finally) to start walking along with the rest of the party, when my game crashed...
My plan is to try and survive while being overladen like this, until I can get to a place where I can sell some of the goods I have on me.

darn too late, i thought the game was corrupted because i got an error during installation and afterwards every patch gave an error that my game was badly installed. So i assumed i had to start from scratch.
I didn't immediately find anything usefull on the gog forums.
But thanks anyway
I'm playing Skyrim instead for now

I started a new game, then realised I just don't like the game as much anymore. Plus I don't have time to pour another 40 hours in it, maybe in a few weeks... So I reloaded a few old saves, revisited favourite parts and played one of the new quests for a little bit. But I admit I feel just... underwhelmed. Plus it seems they changed Depth of Field and lights, and they look pretty bad now, and my game lags like crazy. Ironically enough I was just made a moderator at the official forums, so I'll be around.
The new ending is nice though, it feels good to have some closure and know what the outcome of the final meeting was. It turns even darker and more 'epic', now I wonder what TW3 will be like.

Ah, so that's why you've been scarce here, Dona! Well, I hope you'll still pop in here. I feel a certain loyalty towards JA, so I still try to come here often. But i might catch you over there as well, I'll try to go register there if I have time.
PS, Are you "Dona" over there as well? My GOG name is "The Traveller" Not sure if i ever joined the Witcher forums; - sometimes the Traveller name is taken, then I use Balmoran.
Oh, and to me the game actually looks better, the lighting looks more realistic, in that new (rather gory) intro it looks astounding. I much prefer the more realistic colours to those bright primary colours the game had before.

Marko, a lot of gamers experience worse performace. For most, disabling the depth of field (the way it is implemented has been reworked from scratch for the EE, with very mixed results performance and quality wise :\ ) effect has solved the problem.

I'm playing around 25-30fps so it's still playable right now.

I did have the effect on previously, but I can't say I'd be able to judge whether it looks worse, but performance had been good with Version 1.3 (I never had the inclination to try Version 2.0), so I'll be curious to see how it goes if I have time to try it tomorrow.

There is a new outro that is the same on all paths. There are also 'political wrap-up' cinematics that depend on your choices, but they are full of new information, too. You didn't miss anything. They added stuff, but I don't think they've removed anything. Hell, even that nonsensical Roche vs Iorveth is still there, intact.
I do still visit JA, it's just that there's nothing to discuss here right now :[ I love you guys, I don't think I'd be able to leave just like that!
Yeah, I'm Dona on the official forums. Can't miss me, especially now that my posts got that blue stripe all mods have. I'm dnna on GoG, but I haven't posted there since they re-opened official forums in August.
And lol I STILL haven't seen the intro! Says how I feel about the game rn. :/
