Status : Offline | A Note to Fellow Adventurers I want to add my small voice for the call for help for this wonderful site and forum to help cover expenses. As we all know this is a wonderful place to share our love of adventure games and the adventure of playing them, for in sharing our fun and enjoyment, the magic and the goodness is not only shared but mangnified and expanded far past what any one of us could imagine. I have come to love and value this community very much and I plan to add my nickels and what i can afford to help keep the lights on as long as it is needed, for Randy and the staff here have given us a wonderful gift and I Hope to see that Gift go on giving. Chris (CrisGer)

Kidding!
No one is required to make a contribution -- it's strictly voluntary. So if you're unable to make one, that's okay!

Jeepers. I'd need a mortgage.
I got it to work but why did I get a receipt saying I'd sent money to Francis? :-?

@Helen: I asked Randy about alternate payment methods and he said he wants to limit it to Paypal only. Sorry about that.
I've edited the OP in this thread as well as the broadcast announcement to add the following:
For anyone who might be wondering, Randy is known as Francis Sluganski on the above Paypal account. I can personally vouch that they're one-and-the-same person. Sorry for the confusion.

Oops, sorry. My sick sense of humor seems to be in overdrive right now.
Seriously, whichever way you want to do things is fine. I completely understand about your lack of disposable income; I live in that condition almost perpetually.
I, too, would be devastated if the site were to shut down. I've been involved with JA in one capacity or another for over seven years now, and I'm emotionally attached to the site and its participants.
Randy gave me my first-ever opportunity to write a game review back in 2003. A couple of years ago, he also tossed the webmaster position right in my lap. No matter what happens, these things, along with Randy and all of you guys, will always be special to me.
Thanks for your support, Trav!

Status : Offline | Helen, there was a lot of 'phishing' emails sent out a few years ago that were not from Paypal. I got a few & sent them onto Paypal (they have an email to send them to) - they turned out to be fraudulent & it does help Paypal if you do send them on. It's never wise to follow links in emails from financial companies anyway - best to log into the proper site.

Karla, we had a similar situation occur on another website (not adventure game related) and we all agreed to help out with a certain amount as a minimum ie. the amount that was necessary to help keep the site afloat. I'm not saying we need to know that here, but it would be helpful to know something like what, based on the number of 'regular JA users', would be a range of useful donation amounts to actually make a difference in the support of the site.

The future ain't what it used to be!
