Cool beans.  Between this one and Asylum I don't think that I will be able to sleep for a very long time.

.

Still can't believe that Amnesia's website says the game uses "cutting edge 3D graphics".

Marketing bs...  But still, Penumbra rocked.  This should be good.  8-)

.

It wouldn't be so blatant if that line of marketing bs wasn't preceeded by an auto-loading video clip of the actual gameplay, which looks a lot like Thief: The Dark Project from 1998.

Graphics aside, I look forward to the game too.

Cheers, Terry

Amnesia looks a lot better than any of the thief games. While it might not be the best looking game ever, it does not look horribly bad. The lighting looks quite nice (something that from time to time was a problem with penumbras graphics).

Yay! Another Frictional game!

Video is nice and creepy!

[ Video ]

I hope they do a better job than the Penumbra followups... I loved Penumbra but the followups fell flat in the story department.

As of yet, the game isn't as scary as Penumbra.... but I might be wrong ofcourse  :-/ I'm stuck in the laboratory right now
The graphics are acceptable, but quite boring, they would have been cutting edge six years ago

May just have to try it. As long as the graphics do the job they're intended to, I'm fine with them.

Are we even playing the same game?  This is the first anywhere that I can find where someone said it is not scary.  To each his own I guess.

As for the graphics, I think they are quite good.  Not cutting edge in the sense that most shooter aim for.  But the art direction and insanity effects are top notch.

Loving this game.

I see mention of the graphics but man, for me the sound steals the show in this game.

There's just so much ambiance because of all the sounds, from the creaks through the walls to the sudden moan of someone...or something in the distance.

Wait til you get into the "water" area, if you didn't jump yet, you will be in for a surprise

So I've given the game a shot. It's very atmospheric, the storyline seems quite Lovecraftian, and seems a lot of fun.

And what's that I see in the menu? A custom story option, eh? That sounds promising!

Incredible game.

Tip: Listen to the very first tip -- get into the atmosphere and experience the game. If you have headphones -- use them... crank up the sound... lower the lights...

SCARE THE POOP OUT OF YOURSELF.

Enjoy!

I only heard about this game today, but it looks right up my alley! I'm very excited to play it.

But I'm a scrooge with a lot of things on her wishlist, so I'll wait for the price to go down a bit  :

It's not about causing a heart attack.  Rather it's about the atmosphere.............

Well, the bad news is that the level editor doesn't seem to work on my system, so I don't think anyone will be able to play any of my Edgar Allen Poe inspired nightmares. Which may be a good thing for the public sanity.

When you are a student with no job and about to foot a bill for an apartment, new car and over $15,000 in immigration fees $20 ceases to become 'only' $20

I've had to cut back on all my loves, which means only playing games I already own unless there is a sale on a game I want that I can't say no to (like Steam's $2-5 adventure game sales).

Still, I'm very excited for the game and have heard only great things from people I know who have played it. I actually heard about the game from a FPS forum - someone voted it having 'best story in a video game'. As soon as I read that I was sold (well, sold on a future purchase

How sad
Have you checked the technical forums (I assume the game's website has one)? Perhaps someone can fix that for you.

When I get the game I would love to play your Poe-inspired adventure -- he is my idol, after all
