And I don't think Attack of the Killer Tomatoes has been mentioned before. Well, now it has anyway...

I think the most weird Python scene, bar none, is Mr. Creosote eating at the restaurant in The Meaning Of Life. "A bucket for monsieur!"

I would distinguish among two categories here: weird/absurd and sick/revolting. Monty Python movies and skits are pretty much all the former, but very few the latter.
I forgot my sig.

Most commonly, "bizarre" is associated with horror movies that are "sick and revolting" which is not true. Yes, the majority of horror movies are bizarre because of a number reasons:
- horror movies tend to get pretty nasty, hence the bizarreness of some scenes (TCM2 is a good example). - most horror movies are so badly done that end being plain weird. - a 99% of horror movies with humour are definitely bizarre (TCM2 again and Dead Alive).
But a movie can be "sick and revolting" without being a horror movie: Pink Flamingos as Gamer pointed and the Pythons
Of course, we should define what really "bizarre" is, a difficult task for me - I remember Jorge Luis Borges once saying that he sorely missed the Spanish equivalent of "bizarre".

Of course, we should define what really "bizarre" is, a difficult task for me - I remember Jorge Luis Borges once saying that he sorely missed the Spanish equivalent of "bizarre". Let's look at the dictionary:
Bizarre, adj.:Strikingly unconventional and far-fetched in style or appearance, odd. Synonyms: fantastic, grotesque, fanciful, exotic
That's a good explanation, isn't it?

Status : Online | Oh my God! I read this topic for the first time just few minutes ago. The last thing I was expecting to see was all this people mentioning my prefered directors. Peter Jackson, Lucio Fulci, Dario Argento, David Lynch, Troma movies.... I guess I can leave my usual horror forum and spend the rest of my life on ja. Braindead, Bad taste and the beyond are masterpieces! I loved all the movies Argento directed until mid-80s (the last ones are crap), and was kind of surprised that nobody mentioned "Profondo Rosso" ("eep red", I think). I know it's not a soprannatural-gore kind of movie, but in Italy it has been the predecessor of a consistent trend of psychic thriller movies (some of them are great ones, such as "The house with the windows that laugh". Here's a site you might take a look at: http://www.so-sweet.cwc.net/
Talking about gory movies, has anyone watched Henenlotter's Brain damage(or the Basket case saga)? Or Brian Yuzna's The dentist? I stopped taking care of my teeth since I watched it. My dentist scares me.

I saw Basket Case but I don't remember it well though I do remember about its sequels (Basket Case 2, The Progeny) which were very weak actually. As far as I know, those were the only movies Henenlotter made.

Bel, I think those are "snuff" films, that is, fake death sequences. Anyway, I don't like the idea of watching people dying without a good reason
