No, I didn't see The Eye. then i won't spoil it for you... all i can say is that particular scene made my skin crawl (of course i was at one of the best movie theaters here and that helped a lot)

This mansion was built by the widow of Henry Winchester, the famous arms maker. She was "slightly" paranoid, hence the house has all sorts of secret passages, doors leading nowhere and other fun stuff.
I forgot my sig.

| Deleted User | Nowadays, they cannot seem to do horror movies really scary. Especially the wave of "retro"-horror movies like Scream etc. etc. are totally non-scary as they don't even take themselves seriously. But maybe that wasn't the purpose anyway...
Remember Alien? That one was really cool to watch for the first time. The scene where that guy goes looking for the cat is a classic! The Alien series is among my all-time movie favorites. Every single one of them! The autopsy scenes in Alien 3 really freaked me out the first time I saw it.
The only thing that can really scare me these days are movies that develop in such an unexpected way that you're totally at a loss with what will happen next. The Cell is a good example of that. In that movie, you're going to see the insides of a serial killer's mind. It's like a bizarre Salvador Dalí-ish world where things are really freaked out. It made me really uneasy. And I remember seeing the TV series It, that was also kind of scary because that damn scary clown messed up their world in all sorts of unexpected ways. The ending was a bit disappointing though.
BTW: Now I remember, that was Tim Curry playing the clown! Man, they should give him more parts like that. He's a really scary man when you start thinking about it...

| Deleted User | Oh, oh, I just remembered: If you want to se something really weird, you should find a TV series by the Danish director Lars Von Trier, called "Riget". (I only think it's been released in a few northern Europe countries though.) It's also called "The Kingdom" on imdb.
I cannot even begin to explain how bizarre this series is, but it's full of humor too. It was supposed to be divided into three parts, with a few episodes in each, but one of the main actors died and the series was never completed. Maybe it will in the future though...
Anyway, it's filmed in a hospital in Copenhagen, which is visited by the devil and haunted. The people in the story are an odd bunch of weird doctors, patients and medical students. It's filmed in a kind of grainy, sepia-toned way with moveable cameras. If you've heard of the Dogma philosophy you know what to expect. The music is really creepy too.
In this series you're going to see some very freaked out things. A small girl's carcass preserved in formal dehyde, a grown man being delivered out of a pregnant woman and laughing right at you. An absurdly malformed "baby". Really unnerving stuff I tell you...
It features a great Danish actor called Udo Kier which, just like Curry, is a natural when it comes to creepy movie parts. He's been in a lot of big Hollywood movies recently, like End of Days and Shadow of the Vampire. You may also recognize him as Yuri in Command&Conquer: Red Alert.

It freaked me out for years!

I always say that "the book is better than the movie"... except for Stephen King If you think the ending of the movie was disappointing (it was) the book is even worse.

But maybe that wasn't the purpose anyway... it was the purspose of scream yes... but all these kind of movies like Elm Street, F13th, Halloween etc (which i love btw) cannot actually be scary (only ES1 and HW1 can come somewhat close)... but of course this depends on who's watching such a movie... i've got a very close female friend (why doesn't the word friend have a feminine in english? like freundin in german, and probably in all other languages?) who is very much into those movies and we watch a lot together.... now she gets scared more easily

(yet another recommendation!)

SE7EN!!! now that was amazing, one of the best of its kind (probably the best) ever... especially from the point he goes to the police station, suspence hits the top and stays there to the very last second... and you never know what'll happen... FANTASTIC ending too! unfort it's very low on rewatchability... i've seen it 4-5 times but nothing came close to the experience of the 1st
btw F14th, good point about pet semetary, i had forgotten all about it

It's directed by David Fincher, he's my favorite director. He also directed Fight Club, The Game and Alien 3 (haven't seen Alien 3 yet).

You're right Mr. Funk! It's Aya's fault (as usual) i didn't do anything!

Status : Offline | You asked for them!! Here are more sick, depraved, controversial, offending, mindless, nasty, politically incorrect, disgusting movies. Caution advised.
Meet The Feebles by Peter Jackson

Yeah, more Jackson - this guy is really brilliant. I was very surprised when I watched this movie! The puppets rivals the Muppets of Jim Hewson, they're really that good. And the plot was very good actually! I can't tell you how hard I laughed at this movie, although some scenes are VERY nasty - just like in Dead Alive, you don't know which one to do first: laugh or vomit
The Beyond by Lucio Fulci

There are two things you shouldn't expect if you're going to watch a Lucio Fulci movie: sense and good taste. Of course, expect buckets of blood, dismemberments, head explosions, nude women and sadistic zombies. The Beyond, while not his best work, is a tad above the others in the bizarreness level. Some scenes are so mind-bogglingly weird that will make you feel your brains are oozing out of your nose. Nothing beats Italian horror
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 by Tobe Hooper

"Is that a chainsaw in your pocket or you're happy to see me?". The first one was pure horror, a real classic, but for the sequel the director didn't have a better idea than include humour... and he messed the entire movie Not as horrorific as the first one but definitely more weird, this movie continues the story of this lovely cannibal family. There's a very cool scene where Leatherface defaces a man and uses his skin as a mask. Then he puts the improvised mask on the protagonist's face. Hail Leatherface!
From Beyond by Stuart Gordon

From the makers of Re-Animator, this movie is losely based on a H.P. Lovecraft's story (veeeeeeery losely). A sadistic scientist builds this machine - the Re-Sonator - which allows passage to another dimension. Things go really wrong and strange stuff begin to happen, like weird creatures eating people. Features Jeffrey Combs as a paranoid (his default role) lab assistant - he's the best horror actor ever!!
Un Chien Andalou by Luis Buñuel

The father of bizarre movies. This was a collaboration between Luis Buñuel and Salvador Dalí - a short, very experimental movie that consists in surreal imagery. Features the very first gore-in-your-face scene which by chance is the very first scene of the movie: a woman's beautiful eye is sliced with a razor-blade. Just like that, no introduction, no warning. A cool trivia note: they actually used a real donkey eye for that scene - EEECH!!
