I know Gamespot isn't the best source for Point n Click reviews, but they give this one a real bashing!

Deleted UserThanks Steve, they sure did.  Hopefully I will come across some other reviews (JA?) of a more positive nature, or at the very least wait for the price to bottom out.  :-/

I didn't think I'd see it, but I have to give GameSpot a thumbs up for an excellent review. Yeah, I know he ripped into the game, but he ripped into the game for being disappointing - not because it was an adventure game.

As much as I hate to agree with Gamespot, Alter Ego was fairly putrid and his complaints were all right on.

According to Protection ID, the Viva Media version of Alter Ego uses SecuROM 7.42.0001
So if anyone has trouble getting it to run, that's probably why.

After fooling with it a while, I'm giving up. Starting the game goes to a black screen and stays there forever. I have to Control-Alt-Delete and reboot to get out of it.

Since there are no cracks for the Viva Media version, the only way I could play the game would be by downloading the warez. Since it's apparently a crap game anyway, I'm not going to bother.

If anyone wants to tinker with it, you can have it for the cost of postage.

The system requirements sound very low and even an old computer can meet them easily. But they don't warn you it contains SecuROM when you buy it.

If no one else replies Jenny, I'll take it off your hands.

What?

You got nosed out by one person, Inland.
It would have been interesting to see if you could have gotten it working.
I tried everything I could think of.

Oh, Inland, I'm sorry to say, I just offered at GB to take it off her hands - perhaps you and I can put our brains together and get this running on either my old Dell PC or the new PC I'm hoping to build once I get finished with the practice PC, ok?

Not to worry - if it's as big a stinger as I'm hearing, the full price will drop to $5.00 in no time.

I've been looking for that post by Karla, from a while ago, that points to the trailer, but I cannot seem to find it.  Could anybody be so kind to point me to it?

Hmm, see, I told you it would be better if Karla did those posts here in the adventure discussion section rather.

Wherever she is doing them, they seem to disappear pretty quickly to wherever it is that lost posts go..   :-/  :

Thanks for the link, CB.   :-*
