What I can tell you quickly are my 2 most recent ones: is that it's 151 to become a Sorcerer's Apprentice and 6001 to become a Grand Inquisitor...

Why? Do you just want to know when you'll move up, or do you want to know all of them?

I guess I'm not very chatty. My stats at other forums are similar  :-[
JA   member 7 years     posts 1394
Gameboomers  member 9.5 years   posts 1648
Adventure Gamers     member 7 years    posts 825
Chronicles UK     member 4.5 years    posts 701

I'm the most talkative here at JA, but not up to anywhere near the caliber of the other regulars. I need to get better at saying less with more words

...gee, Caroline, look who's talking - Ms Grand Inquisitor 3rd time round is it?  Now, that takes some doing.  Btw, I really hope you go the whole slog this time, I'd really like to see what they come up with to crown you as the chattiest person on JA...

Welll...... I didn't want to spark a posting war, but I did overtake Terry a few days ago.   [smiley=angel_smiley.gif]

And you know, if you people didn't encourage me so badly, I wouldn't have the opportunity to post this much.   :-*

Hehehe, well, the more you post, the more I get to post, so I'm not complaining...    [smiley=shrug.gif]     [smiley=angel_smiley.gif]

..although I must admit that I rather enjoy this sorcerer's apprentice thingy, so I'm in no rush at the moment.   :

Just a gentle reminder that your original promise was to overtake me by two Christmasses ago, Caroline.

But then the whole university thing stalled your re-ascent to the top.

We also saw a big drop in heated, post-count-driving topics after the P&R forum was closed. While that was probably a good thing, it also reduced the number of threads that sparked the most passion / highest response rates.

Since then, as you know, I have rejoined another game forum that still allows heated P&R topics.

As of now, my post count there stands at 4,120, the bulk of which was done during the past two years.

Concurrently, I also made several thousand additional posts on yet another forum, which recently switched to a new format. Those posts were all lost in the process, but a new post-count is climbing toward 500.

If my focus had remained here on the JA+ message boards over those years, my post count would be nearly double what it is today.

I'm not necessarily proud of that, but it is the truth.

Nevertheless, if you had not reset your post count to zero these last two times, you would still be the most prolific of us no matter how we calculate it.

Cheers, Terry

How sad (for us on JA) that you don't post a lot here anymore, Terry.
I wondered where you had gone, and missed your voice here.

Well some of us have a life other than sitting in front of a screen all the time posting just for the sake of increasing posting count like it was an Olympic event you know.

I for example have to travel all over with my neuralyzer and constantly explain to people that it was NOT a UFO, but swamp gas and a malfunctioning weather balloon.

You barely get time to go to lunch.  The 37 hour Centaurian Day keeps you on your toes you know.

What with the tracking down last week of an illegal reverberating carbonizer with mutate capacity, or having the Solaxiant 9 council coming down to watch the Bulls Game from the front row, keeps you real busy.

And if monitoring, licencing and policing all alien activity on Earth wasn't enough of a headache, do you even know how hard it is to keep your black suit looking spotless.
Jeez!!..........you don’t want to know!  [smiley=tongue.gif]

Hey, someone's gotta do it, Shadow, - someone has to do it, and frankly, -better you than I...  you're doing the world a great service ; - so hang in there now..

And just btw, now that I am no more a janitor, I have no interest in overtaking anybody... I just happen to enjoy talking to people, and to be able to type fast!    [smiley=blahblah.gif]

What are the post counts necessary for each of the designations?

So, is there somewhere on the forums where I can get this information?

Well, I was being a nosy parker and hoping you'd tell us why, but nevermind, I'll quickly compile you a list anyway.

Post count            Designation

1- 150                  Intergalactic Janitor

151 -500                  Sorcerer’s Apprentice

501-1000                  Private Detective

1001-2000                  Journeyman

2001-3500                  Schattenjäger

3501-6000                  Guild Master

6001 – 10 000            Grand Inquisitor

10 000+                  Ask Caroline

I hope that is correct. I'm sure someone will correct me if it isn't, anyway.

Well, I hope you realize that I went to quite a bit of trouble for you there, Colpet - trawling through the member's list in my obsession to please...

..anyway, don't worry - I think what we have is contagious and it's rubbed off on you as well now.  I bet you $100 that you'll make Grand Inquisitor before I do!   [smiley=devil_smiley_grintail.gif]

Colpet only averages 0.52 Posts per day, Traveler - while you are averaging over 11 per day.

She should take that bet.

Shows you what a

1) helpful

and

2) polite critter I am, Terry: when people talk, I feel obliged to reply, and the rest of my posts are where I'm aiming to be helpful to people...    [smiley=angel.gif]

The 11 a day was probably just inflated to that by the janitorship.

My overall average since joining JA+ has dropped from around 10 to under 4 posts per day.

But my average daily post count for all three main forums I visit regularly has remained about the same.

Sadly, I also made many, many thousands of posts on three additional game forums over the years. Two of them folded or merged and the other became too commercial.

I suppose over the past decade I have exceeded 10 per day on average, making the aggregate total more than 36,500.

So please don't ever feel the need to explain or justify your forum habit to me.

Cheers, Terry

I'm sorry , Trav. I didn't mean to put you to work over my whim.
At the very least, I've surpassed my daily post average by quite a bit!
I'll optimistically say I might be a Schattenjäger sooner than expected.

I don't think Colpet is the betting kind anyway, are you Colpet...   :-X

Haha, I think we're doing very well even without a story here - hey! Do you remember our Hiro story? That was fun before it became too complicated..

I hope that is correct.
