We are finally more humane in our treatment of the troubled but still have a long way to go.

I appreciate your viewpoint but its very difficult to hold anyone's interest in a scenario where nothing untoward can happen. To a certain degree most AG's boil down to a classic Good v Evil battle, so in order to show why its worth bothering with your character's quest they need to be in a position of righting a wrong (catching a criminal) or preventing something wicked or evil from happening (conspiracty theories, supernatural events). Personally, I don't like to be frightened while playing a game either, but I will persevere in order to bring the story to a hopefully satisfying conclusion

In your defense, Steve, that scenario didn't really feel like a traditional asylum setting. In fact, it was quite offbeat and fun as far as asylums go, I found. [smiley=cheesy.gif]

You should be. I am still recovering from the tests we had to pass before we could even say we might consider thinking about volunteering to test Scratches.
Beta-tester of 'The Path', 'Rhiannon', 'Scratches', 'Hope Springs Eternal', 'Time Stand Still', 'Frasse and the Peas of Kejick', '1893: A World's Fair Mystery', 'Carte Blanche' and 'Oakhaven Plantation' a.o.&&

Looking forward to the game, really like games like this (especially Sanitarium, one of my favorite adventures).

By the way, I tried the teaser, I believe; is it intended to be primarily atmospheric, with relevant symbols, words and images, or is there something more that I missed? Specifically: Spoiler AlertI seem to recall that I moved all of the pieces of paper out of the way, revealing the symbol on the surface below. Nothing seemed to happen, however; did I miss something, perhaps?
I haven't yet watched the trailer linked-to on the site, as my browser doesn't seem to have the correct plugin.
(The website is perhaps a trifle slow to load on my connection, by the way; in fact, I think that on my first visit I turned away because of it.)
MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
*ahem*
Sorry.

I really pity the Rothburians... when it's not ancient African curses, it's gunmen running wild :
I'm really glad you folks like Asylum so far! I'm positive the game won't disappoint... I can't wait to see you all wandering around the endless hallways of the Hanwell institute. It's SO darn creepy [smiley=shudder.gif] Hey, I really like Scratches!....(never did get the alternate ending to trigger, oh well)
Asylum is looking good. Can't wait to be scared out of mind!

As far as I can tell, the website is performing well enough. Even though it looks graphically intensive, it doesn't weigh that much, so maybe you had the misfortune to pay a visit while there was a peak of traffic.
Also -- there's nothing else to do in that teaser, but apparently it works fine because it got everybody wondering

They weren't that bad. I got used to not wearing clothes for several weeks while the wounds healed.

I'm using Firefox; it's most likely, I think, that my Flash plugin is simply a little old (indeed, I think that Flash may be the plugin that Firefox has been urging me to update with each update of the browser itself ^^; ).
Hmm... I just noticed again the video on the front page; is that the same as linked-to by the "ownload The Trailer" button further into the site? If, so, that seems to load - I may watch it later. ^_^
As to the traffic, my connection, while an ADSL line, may very well not be as fast as I think are available more cheaply in some countries than in this. While I will admit that on the second occasion at the least the site may well have been slowed by other things loading on my side, and it seems plausible that the first instance was simply an issue of traffic. A quick visit during the writing of this post seemed to show the site loading more quickly, although at least some of that may be caching.
It does at least appear that you may be using a fair few largish images (or a number of smaller ones), however...
Thank you for the clarification on the teaser. ^_^

You are standing in an open field west of a white house, with a boarded front door. There is a small mailbox here.
