Not goodbye. Kill the Traveller by all means, but come back to us when you can - we are your buddies, fair weather or foul.
Right now you're in the briar patch and can't play: we hear that and we send you all our best wishes.
You are one feisty, strong lady and we know you'll come through this. We believe in you.
Stay strong. Stay in touch. :-*

Status : Online | I cannot begin to fathom what problems, hardships, or emotionally draining circumstances you have had to face and are currently attempting to deal with Traveller. Even though others here may have had to deal with similar problems to yours, what is a given reality is that whatever problems you face; they are problems that you have to deal with on your own terms and in your own manner. Another given is that “usually”, though not always, problems shared may make your journey through your personal hell much easier to handle and likewise your burdens lighter to carry.
Another given is that all of us here are just as well hoping that there is something we could do on your behalf to help soothe your problems. I am certain that you are well aware that you can rely on us to give you support; but, I am still saying it straight out I hope in the name of all the others here. We want to help you cope and help you carry your problems if you care to bring us in.
Sometimes people also can consider some of their personal problems possibly too embarrassing or shameful to have even supposedly close friends in on the problem. To that I say that regardless of how shameful the problems or how difficult they may be, those in need might just be surprised at how much others can care and open their hearts, without someone feeling embarrassed, vulnerable, or judged.
That your Avatar Traveller suffered the fate of being swept away as a symbol of your old life and self persona ending; I hope that it is merely the beginning towards the creation of a new self; brighter, stronger, far more resilient, and more serene.
I can say likewise that some of the happier and better moments that I have recalled in my past have been the few times when I knew that I was able to make a difference in the troubles, needs, and improved outcomes in the life of other people I have helped.
Whatever time you need to heal and rebuild yourself can well be understood. However, please do not say goodbye, please just tell us that you need some time off, and that you will come by later when all that needs to be set into play and solved has run its course.
I hope you let us know the progress you are going through from time to time so that we may have our concerns for your welfare not run wild with apprehensions for your state of mind or emotional pains that you are running through. Please return to us when you have finished your journey and grief. Please come back to us, to hold you again in our hearts and joy.
One last note….I have never known your true name Traveller. Mine is Carlos.

It will, I think, for a time be strange to not have you posting here - a little emptier than once it was.
In whate're realms you travel now, travel safely, and may the path be fair beneath your feet and the lands about pleasing to the eye. ^_^
May your troubles all find their best resolution, and a time of happiness lie beyond them.

Sorry.

But if you are leaving this website, then it is not. And, permit me to add that the action seems rather foolish to me.
If you need time away from this place to attend to other matters, that's one thing.
But why abandon friends and colleagues right at the time when it appears that you need them the most?
I truly hope you will reconsider.

Status : Offline | I have just spoken with Traveller, and she has asked me to relay a message:
First, that she has read your messages, and finds herself frustrated that she is no longer in a position to reply in order to express her appreciation for those messages, and feels a little sad that she has burnt that particular bridge. It was apparently a symbolic deed of how she feels at the moment.
Anthony, Caroline, and those with similar sentiments, she agrees with you: she doesn't want to be without those here on Just Adventure, since she has always loved this site and it's members, and intends to return as soon as she has sorted through her emotions a little, and as soon as she has decided on a new name and identity (which may be similar to the old so that we may still recognise her).
Speaking for myself again, I'm glad of this. While the shell that was "Traveller" may be gone, at least the person behind it will hopefully return in time - or, given the metaphor of her having "killed" Traveller, perhaps it were better I said "reborn". ^_^

For the rest of us, the journey will be a little less exciting and a lot more sad.
Good Luck Traveller.

understandable.....no sadness please.....you will then return......

funny.........prior to choosing Shadowwalker......I considered using the Avatar names.......The Wanderer....The Adventurer......and or The Navigator......wow.....we would have been similar in that.

The Phoenix has long been presented as a symbol of rebirth, immortality, and renewal
The Phoenix......that's a nice name for an Avatar.......

In the years I've been a member of forum I usually was much more of a lurker than an poster (and still am!), but, several times I felt compelled to participate regarding posts you have started, enjoying the shared ideas.
Like other people have already said, the forum will be a little emptier than once it was. I'm glad that the news that Thaumaturge has given seem to point to your return. I hope that you can find the piece of mind / spirit you crave and your emotions sorted out.
All the best for your travel!
PS: if you feel that a good laugh might help you in your "perils", I endorse my previous funny comic recommendations (on the comic book/cartoons thread) and add a new one - Get fuzzy:

Status : Offline | Ex Traveller, i wish you all hearts ease with all my own heart. I know what it is to walk through hard times, the past 15 years of my own life has been so hard that at times i did not want to go on. But i did and things if not better are very really different than i expected.
I hope something like that will enter your consciounsess, words are feeble bridges between kindred souls but I have felt that you share here with us a special kinship, a bond of adventurers in a time of great stress and trial all around us. You spoke out for freedom recently in a post exchange and I see this as a move for freedom by you that I can understand and support wholeheartedly. I have had to strip away whole huge parts of my own life, at one point cutting contact with absolutely everyone I knew for years to grow and heal and move on.
So, like others here, i voice my love of you and your decisions which we totally support. We are your friends, and I know we will remain so no matter what form you take to return, open arms and posts will await you.
Be well, Dear friend, and be in touch as you wish. Fly and reach for your dreams. take care. And come home when you can.

I sure hope you'll come back to us someday. This place just won't be the same without you!

I'm must admit that I don't understand the abrupt total cancelling of one's membership. One can make a change by changing one's handle and simply saying that they won't be around indefinitely.
