I'm not inclined to speculate with so little information - especially with the counter so close to reaching zero, but it does have my curiosity.
If I'm not much mistaken in my calculations, it should hit zero at approximately 8pm GMT tomorrow (Saturday). I look forward to finding out what lies behind this oh-so-mysterious (and rather lovely) hat, quote and count-down...
MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Sorry.

I think that I had hardly dared hold much hope that this was what was being counted down to.
I look forward to downloading the game. ^_^

Truthfully, you do not need much prior knowledge of the games. If you get the chance to read up on the previous games, it is icing on the cake, but not necessary.

So... now we officially have a reason to do playthrough threads for King's Quest 5 and 6, my dear fellow forumites! [smiley=happy.gif]
I shall start one for KQ 5 soon. [smiley=cool.gif]

Status : Offline | It's sad, IGN posted the trailer on their Youtube channel today and so many people are like "is this a joke? looks horrible." Just a bunch of people whining about the graphics even after people explain it's an indie game and it's free and not some AAA funded project, sigh.
Looking forward to the game.

So i'll just wait and see if the game really comes out in july. Only then I will believe it's actually finished.

(I'm mildly annoyed that they apparently require a forum account in order to download the game, but I find it to be only a minor inconvenience.)

This. I have enough forum accounts already, I've no interest in adding more. I'll try the game when they make it "freely" downloadable or an off-site mirror pops up.

| Deleted User | Still not entirely sure why you have to register with an account. It wasn’t like the case with other sites that generate an email that you must reply in order to activate the account and access the download prompt. On the other hand I suppose it does bring you one step closer to the discussion groups but I think I’ll pass this time. :-/
I do have a far more serious personal struggle as it’s been over a decade since I’ve given the King’s Quest saga any serious thought. Therefore I wasn’t all that surprised that I could only recall a few of the game characters and even less of the original episodes. :-[ I am relieved though that POS has included a summary page and it would be a very smart idea to review before I proceed any further into the game. Huh, huh? Is it because I have a plunger over my head?  I'm really starting to get a complex over that) :-/

But seriously though, I am very tempted to download this myself. Sadly my new code of self-discipline requires that I finish what I am busy with first.
Perhaps we can still do KQ5 a bit later, I hope. Since the Silver Lining comes in episodes, this one is probably not too long, and the next one might be a while in arriving?
Hopefully more people playing it will give feedback soon. (Besides the review that is already out.)

Status : Offline | As I recall, the first episode is very short indeed (and for that matter has very little in terms of puzzles); I seem to recall reading, from either their forums or the site, however, that episode 1 is meant as an introduction (or re-introduction) to the setting, aiming to allow players to settle in before the game picks up.
I also seem to recall that episode 2 is to be longer, and is hoped to be out in about one to three months.
(To be honest, I think that they might have profited from a longer, more puzzle-rich first episode, since I fear that they might lose players on this first impression... :/)
MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

If that is the case, I say I am inclined to wait for episode 2 rather than face the interruption after a brief initial episode. For the sake of continuity, I'd prefer to re-acclimate at my own pace.
