I'm looking for an old 1980's text adventure titled Ringquest.  It is not the one I've been finding by Penguin Software.  This is a two level game where you travel the Mines of Moria and have random encounters with Red Orcs, Balrog, etc.  Their pictures are ASCII symbols.  I believe it was from 1983.  Anyone know of this game.  I played it on my Apple II when younger.

I have this game.  I recently learned how to connect my Apple to my PC and I pulled it off an old floppy.  I remembered typing the game in myself, and after some research found that it was from the October 1982 issue of Byte magazine - published as a program listing as some sort of games design contest winner.  The intro screen says it was written by C.G. Mills.  I just played it, and like the last 100 times 29 years ago, lost quickly.
id you ever win it?

Is there a way you can send to me at fenroth@yahoo.com.  I've been looking for this for 20 years.  I accidentally formatted the diskette and it was lost to me forever.  I would love if you could e-mail it to me so I can enjoy it again.

Just a suggestion for when you receive the game - perhaps you can burn it onto a CD-R so that you don't accidentally format it like you did that diskette?

Wow I remember that game wow that was a long long time ago when the fandom for Lord of the Rings was just about the only fandom out there...pre Star Wars pre everything.
