I have a dual core Intel CPU and a ATI 4850, using Windows7

After looking for a long time, I found Byzantine The Betrayal.
Copied all the files from CD's to my harddrive, edited the CD.BYZ file and added 1,2,3,4,5 verticaly so game no longer asks for CD's, and checked all the compatibility options from it's shortcut invluding Windows 95 compatibility mode. The game starts.

As I thought, the game is running to fast, particularly when I move the cursor to edges of the screen to look around. I suspect this will lead to further problems with timed sequences in the game.

I tried reducing my CPU speed by using a utility called Turbo, but even when I set it to 1 percent, all it does is to make the game load in ten seconds instead of one.

Does anyone have any idea how to make this game run properly?

It's been many years since I played this game so I'm not sure if I can help. I seem to recall that when I played this game if you moved the mouse cursor to the far left or right of the screen it would cause the image to move too fast on a modern PC, but if you just moved the mouse cursor close to the edge of the screen it would move at a slower rate.

Tried Turbo to slow it down? I haven't used Turbo with this game yet but I will one of these days. Turbo is a great slowdown utility.

You can use an emulator that will slow the speed down ...or sometime if you disable accelration in the control panel that will help as well. that fixes some of the older games like Rome: Caesars Will and others.
