Status : Online | I wonder about re-inventing the wheel by designing new interfaces (are these "game engines"?) for new games.
And, especially whether or not game makers could save money in this area.
Smart cursors seem the same to me, with better or worse icons.
Inventory systems and save/load/menu functions seem to be basically the same, but are accessed and designed a bit differently in each game.
I want variation in story, characters, and puzzles. Too often it is these areas that lack creative innovation. And yet, interfaces vary widely.
Is this a copyright problem?
By the way, my favorite interface ever is Tex Murphy: Overseer and I have yet to see one I like better. They even made a helpful movie of how to play the game so one wouldn't even have to peek in the manual (which was well done too, while I'm at it).
Anyhow, just wondering. :
Thanks!
I've seen many clever, intelligent signatures.&&This isn't one of them.
