Which is harder to design and program?
A first-person game or a third-person game? :-?

Just wondering. :

Thanks!

I've seen many clever, intelligent signatures.&&This isn't one of them.

From my recent experience 3rd person is so much quicker than 1st to produce.

With just a few locations I found that I had to set my camera to see all 360 degrees and add all the close ups and the various other camera positions within the room.  While a 3rd person adventure may have one picture per scene a 1st person (in my case) has over 23 shots for just one location plus all the code to move from shot to shot.

With 3rd person games you need to have some good character animation be it 3D or 2D, but once you have your basic animation your charaters are ready to be dropped into any scene you choose.

I made my game 1st person because it's the style that I most enjoy.  I like looking through the eyes of my character.  3rd person somehow removes me from the action and I feel less involved, more of a puppet master.  But it's what you feel right with.  The adventure game community will always be divided on 1st and 3rd person perspectives.  Try Myst V - End of ages, you can toggle between 1st and 3rd

Hope that helps

Paul
