In Memoriam and In Memoriam 2 also use the Templars extensively, the Phoenix seems obsessed by them

What about the ever present slider puzzle

Oh yes...those dreaded sliders...

Add to that some Tower of Hanoi puzzles.

For themes, lets not forget the often used haunted house.

Deleted UserHehe - I actually *like* sliders - and on the subject, also musical puzzles.

Of course, musical puzzles are a nono for tone deaf people and colour puzzles are also difficult to impossible for colour-blind folk.
For deaf people of course subtitles are absolutely essential, wheeras for blind folk good voice acting is imperative.

Recently, it looks like ghosts and pirates are replacing templars.

I agree and based on our current templar list, it doesn't look like there were very many to begin with.  That's why I think the whole overuse of templars might be a myth.  Maybe there were a flurry of them at around the same time that led to the myth, but in the grand scheme of things, they seem to be few few as a whole.

Except in Scratches. One of many things that made that game awesome.

Did this thread really go almost two full pages without anyone mentioning amnesia?

I would have mentioned it but I forgot
.  Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Edit: Now that I think about it, I think there's even an AG in production called "Amnesia".

I don't buy download-only games. Never have, never will........Mike
