To get to the other side, silly. Everyone knows that joke.

But in Glendale, California, this little black hen is causing a ruckus. She darts in and out of traffic, weighs too little to be trapped in a humane cage (she doesn't fall for the bait, anyway) and flies away into trees when approached.

I love that little chicken. By golly, she's doin' the best she can.

And ever since November.

We should name her.

So they cannot run after it because its too fast and runs into the traffic.
Some unwitting driver one of these days is either going to get hurt or worse..killed!

Well they could use a Glue Board Trap with a partial cover with food in the center.  Use one similar without glue for a week so the chicken gets used to eating its fill and getting out.

Afterwards change into the real Glue Board Trap.  The chicken walks over the trap and in the center jumps down  2 inches into the uncovered area to get the food.  And....gotcha!   Someone will have to be around staking the glue trap so the chicken will not get freaked out and hurt itself trying to slip out of the glue.

I think she's a lovely little hen.
At first I thought it was someone's pet but she wouldn't be so wary of people if she was tame.  So, are feral chickens common over there?

No one has been able to talk to one long enough to find out.

I saw this hen on E's The Soup last night.  Hen's got some kind of a death wish?  Like Batman once said:  "You play chicken long enough, you fry."
oes that mean a certain Kentucky Colonel is around the corner?

Use fishing nets.  Why didn't they thought of that sooner?

Maybe 'cause it's a chicken?

...and maybe because someone started thinking outside the box?

What?

I've found there's nothing better for catching chicks than a crisp fresh $100.00 bill

Be careful, Inland.  You may catch more than you bargained for.  :-*

I dream of a better tomorrow... where chickens can cross roads and not have their motives questioned.
