Well they could use a Glue Board Trap with a partial cover with food in the center. Use one similar without glue for a week so the chicken gets used to eating its fill and getting out.
Afterwards change into the real Glue Board Trap. The chicken walks over the trap and in the center jumps down 2 inches into the uncovered area to get the food. And....gotcha! Someone will have to be around staking the glue trap so the chicken will not get freaked out and hurt itself trying to slip out of the glue.

Use fishing nets. Why didn't they thought of that sooner?
