Both exist. I'm not sure who improves the scanner, but doubled probe capacity can be researched after speaking with the assassin.
Thanks, JKing. You are right, Thanos gave me the probe capacity upgrade, and the improved scanner became available after I helped Miranda save her sister, though I can't be certain that is the actual trigger.

As a side-note, someone (Tali?) also provides a fuel upgrade, not that I've needed it so far.

Having a lot of fun with it, was up until 2am last night playing it.
Done all of the Omega station and then went to the Citadel.
Bought some fish and a neat "Space Hamster".
The shooting has certainly improved and the storytelling (Oh Man Miranda is Sarah from "Chuck" [smiley=love.gif] [smiley=love.gif]) is great.
Loving it so far.

Status : Offline | [s]Would one of you who has no trouble launching this game please post your system specs so I can try to drill down to my problem? EA's help is no help and everyone else with my GPF problem at launch can't find a solution.
I ran EA's utility to test compatibility and I passed with flying colors, of course. The patch did nothing for this problem.
I don't mean to turn this into tech discussion, but a glimpse at was DOES run this game might give me a hint[/s].
I think I solved it. Although I think there's still a conflict with possibly alg.exe or my sound acceleration, I noticed in the config that my display resolution was correct at 1920 x 1080 but it said 4:3 instead of widescreen 16:9. No wonder my screen was going wacky.
I hope that's it. Both games start up now and I"ve begun playing ME 1. Man, it's complicated.

removed 3 lines between {} brackets
"process 1 " "%windir%\\system32\\msiexec.exe" "command 1" "/i \"%INSTALLDIR%\\redist\\vcredist.msi" "NoCleanUp" "1"
also hand installed Phxs as well
all sprung to life , just looking for doc on omega station but keep getting stuck ten feet of ground with head in ceiling ( reload time ) , happened 3 times now
I remember the first one caused me as much grief , would start up with a white screen and that turned out to be the creative xfi sound card , if you disabled it in the .ini file it would run ( no sound ) ,ended up removing card and running on onboard sound , never had a problem since that was vista x64 soon after it came out
Playing ME3-Citadel ,TOMB raider ,Skyrim Dragonborn
Waiting fot journey down episode 2 ,Dragon AGE 3

Sometimes Shepard climbs tables and crates where it is nearly impossible to get down from. I found that ordering one of my teammates to stand next to the edge allowed me to step on their heads and then back on the floor :.

That happened to me only once up till now, on the mission to find out what happened to Jacob's father. Good thing the game autosaves more or less after every major fight while on a mission.

that does not sound promising. the exploring of the planets and the few artifacts and structures you would find kept me going when all else got a bit boring.
i have not got this yet, nor do i plan to, too much else to do, and work in RL and some other things on the horizon game wise.
Glad ppl are enjoying it.

There is going to be a vehicle to drive as part of future DLC, but I haven't heard when it's going to be released.

Yes, I can see plenty of places where something could go fatally wrong, but only if the player didn't take time to prepare or isn't paying attention to the nudges given out by the game.

Unfortunately I think your system is the problem as I've had none for both games on my PC.

Both games load and run fine, now. They just aren't for me. I was under the mistaken impression that these were more RPG (similar to Fallout) than they are.
Both games are new, loaded once. I've had no nibbles here, so off to eBay I go.

Voice-overs are excellent, seem like from a movie. I can't wait to see Kaidan again lol. They seem to have upgraded a lot of features, the whole game seems better yet also easier in some ways. But I still have a lot to figure out.
Yet im having some graphic problems:
the characters seem to have no eyes (really). all you see are dark spots. wonder why that is...

I enjoyed every aspect of the game save the scanning planets for minerals and elements --- big turn off for me so I downloaded a trainer. Now I can concentrate more on the story and mission at hand.

Most of the annoying things from ME1 were removed (Bioware really do listen to their fans!), and the entire game moved forward at a good pace. Never was there any downtime, and all the missions made sense, and were relevant (unlike a lot of the sidequests in ME1). The setting is also one of the best original settings I have seen in quite some time, again this seem to be something that bioware is quite good at.
The only real downside with ME2 was that it was short for a CRPG. I want ME3, darn it! Scanning planets was also rather boring, but it sure beats driving around in ME1. Hopefully they find some interesting way of doing it in ME3 (I would imagine that a more indirect way of getting minerals would work, like financing mining operations, mining contracts, or help miners/companies (trough sidequests) in order to get resources)
