Hi folks!
Isn't it amazing that there is such a vibrant community still very much enthralled with IF?
The first computer game made was a text game called "Adventure" right?

Anyway... I wanted to ask for opinions here rather than troll the archives because I want suggestions about what people played when they were newbies.

And I've got a little experience.  The first game a friend (named Maureen) turned me on to was Nord and Bert Couldn't Make Heads nor Tails of It.  It was great and totally got me hooked.  I tried Zork I, but couldn't get very far (although I absolutely love the later graphic games).  And I tried Wishbringer and again didn't get very far.

But my best experience yet has been with 9:05.  Beautiful, short game.  Several endings and I suppose easy for experienced people to get the "winning" ending.

But I'm not experienced, so I was delighted.

I played over and over again hitting different endings until... well... I think I saw (read
) them all.

Anyhow, it comes down to this:

What are some easy, short games for a semi-newbie? :-?

Thanks so much!
I've seen many clever, intelligent signatures.&&This isn't one of them.

If you liked Nord and Bert, give Ad Verbum a try. Lots of fun word play there. I don't play much IF, but I really enjoyed that game.
