Furthermore, I would say that when it comes to summing up the value, fullness and substance of one's own life 'to have to tried is to have succeeded'.

The future ain't what it used to be!

What would I name my book, "How to fail in game development in 12 easy steps"?
Every idea is important, The one's who succeeded just as well as the one's who failed have a story to tell. Everyone fails, the good thing is that you learn from the mistakes and try again. And again. And again. Sooner or later you will get your ducks in a row, and then, you will know from past experience what to do and more importantly what not to do. Yes Alkis, your perspective is important, and so are your experience and failings. It is a lesson learned. I want to become a chef and I want to put together a restaurant with a man who has a great deal of experience.
No matter how good a chef I may become or how many awards I were to get let's say, it still would not protect me from screwing up or making mistakes, or even failing. That is where experience comes in. It is not just all about being in the right place or time, but also knowing how to pick the right time and place and that takes experience too. With a good amount of luck also, but experience is very important.
Someone who can guide you and tell you where the mines are could make your travel easier. Not remove all the problems, but make the travel easier and enable you to travel farther, until the right wind comes along and you have a full wind to your sails.

Alkis, it breaks my heart to hear you talking like that. :'( :'(
I feel sure there will be a new beginning for you, but I think you'll need to work through a process of grieving first.
I wish there is something I could say to make things a bit better, but I guess there isn't, really. Just that I think we all care about you and feel for you.

When you've hit rock bottom, you cannot sink down any lower - you can only go up. And I mean up, up, and soaring when things do get better - much better - for you.
Thanks for helping me with these comic books I wrote a few years back.

And even then, when you realize it really got worse, someone could be desecrating your body. I could go on and on and mention things such as necrophilia but the little voice in my head is telling me to stop now.
Anyway, I trust Alkis will return to adventure game development and this will be just a brief pause. He's one of the few true gurus of the genre and it won't be the same without him

At least you made an excellent game.

You can't kill someone in a studio.

No Alkis we know you won't kill youself, we just want to keep you from doing other things like.....start hanging out with numerous strange women like Tiger Woods, start damaging your liver by consuming large quantities of booze, gamble all your money on Las Vegas craps tables, or give it away to naked pole dancers, stop bathing, wear the same clothes for three weeks, hit the trail and try to live like a hobo, start dressing yourself in your wife's clothes (silk panties do feel reaaly good ) start talking to yourself and getting to hear answers out of thin air, start agreeing with everything your wfe says (just kidding), begin using illicit medications, or start going to work without clothes.....that's all.

Wow! Sounds like the place I've just returned from for my annual Xmas hols. Well, why beat around the bush? Why not advise Alkis to spend a month in downtown Manila for pretty much all of the above? At least it will clear away some of the gloom and give this genius of a designer a break.
Seriously though, I loved DITR, in spite of needing a walkthrough as I was desperate to know the next twist, and would love to see more of the same. How about marketing games a la Mr J Boakes and selling downloadable and jewel case masterpieces directly? Surely it can't be too complex, or perhaps I am too naive in this adventure marketing world.

I loved DITR and like a lot of other people was looking forward to your next game, maybe it's not to be right now, but who knows in the future, things can change after all so keep your chin up and all the best for the future.
