Prominence has its own FaceBook page and the latest entry by the developer was in Sept 2009 in which he says...
Prominence Laptop adventure gamers rejoice! Prominence now supports several common widescreen resolutions. We'll do more testing in the coming weeks, but it seems likely that this new feature will be included in the final release. And also in August 2009
Prominence The Art Department (a.k.a. Mike) finished designing one of the last environments in the game, and it's pretty cool to have come this far. It feels like there’s still a billion more things to build, texture, light, render and animate – but holy cow, we're almost 100% playable!
Prominence The Programming Department (a.k.a. Kevin) has been working on code for some of the in-game animated effects. He’s also been making on some UI enhancements, including screenshots when saving games and other good stuff – most of which we can't talk about just yet...
Prominence Tom and Mike spent time in the studio recording a bunch of foley and sound effects. No fruit or vegetables were harmed during the session, and rumors of flying pizza cutters are probably greatly exaggerated.

Do you have any insider information about release dates? How it's being marketed e.t.c. And of course wish them luck from me.

Thanks to GreyFuss, Agustin and Ivinia for the kind words and for looking out for us.
We try to update the Prominence web site with any "major" news, such as new screenshots, PR announcements, new press coverage, etc.
For those who want to be a little more informed, we offer an email newsletter which goes out somewhere between once a month and one per quarter. It's sort of a digest of completed milestones, new and/or recently posted content, and occasional behind-the-scenes commentary delivered right to your email. It contains no spoilers. You can sign-up right on the Prominence home page.
Recently, we've been posting little updates about smaller milestones and other tidbits of progress to the Prominence page on Facebook, because it's so quick and easy to do. Become a fan on Facebook and you'll pretty much get the very latest information on the game. It's where we first mentioned the recording sessions, the possibility of widescreen support and some other stuff.
Release date...we'd like to see it finished during the front half of 2010, but only time will tell. We don't want to sign deals to manufacture and distribute until the game is ready to go. It would be bad business indeed to make a promise to deliver the gold master by a specific date and then not deliver on time because of unexpected issues that crop up because we're a first time developer and we're still learning the development ropes. (Or worse, deliver something that is buggy or broken just to make the deadline!) Instead, we'll finish the game to our satisfaction, sign with some distributors, and hopefully deliver a quality adventure experience to the players.
At some point it'd be fun to do some contests or giveaways for the newsletter subscribers and Facebook fans. If anyone has any prize suggestions, feel free to chime in.
Happy New Year!
