PS: Be well (stay out of buses if you can...)

(1)  Your English is magnificent (2 of my relatives are Dutch .......... single, not double :
)
(2)  Thanks for your very well intentioned advice ... I certainly know what you mean, and there hangs a short report ...............................................

~~ Although this is certainly not the place for politics, religion, sex, & so on, but just as a pure matter of fact. Last Thursday at just after 2:00 pm we heard a BOOM (not a computer game BOOM!).
~~It transpires that a suicide bomber blew himself and a #37 bus up about 300 yards from our apartment. It burst into flames and everyone on board was either killed or seriously injured & maimed, body parts scattered all over our main road!
~~At least three of our medical friends laboured all through the night trying to save lives, limbs & organs etc.
~~It shook us up a bit since #37 is the bus myself & wife & some grandkids use all the time ... none of us (fortunately for US) were on THAT particular one.
~~So far, there are 15 dead ... nearly all of them schoolchildren between the ages of 13 & 17 with a few roughly 20 yo students on their way up to University. Most of the schoolkids were from the school where several decades ago I used to teach (Physics) for 13 years, and to which we sent our 3 children.

~~On the whole, and with some exceptions, mankind's ethical standards have hardly improved, even if our technological abilities have raced onwards.

Please LenG, don't do this.

Don't put this 'happy' topic in a hellish corner.

If you're a firm member of this community and want to share this awful experience, than make your own 'Of Topic' topic and don't shock us in threads like this.

My opinion.

(you can delete your post if you want, I will delete mine then)

Hehehe!
Some may call it "Second Childhood"!

Gosh LenG it's so good to see so many older players and one's who don't mind others knowing their age.  I felt a bit silly the first time I said I was 64 - but really what the heck!

This is one of the best things about this forum, the huge diversity in ages and cultures and the fact that generally speaking people respect others opinions and get on so well (I know there have been some exceptions but I always wondered if they were just trying to add a bit of interest, rather than causing trouble)   Pity the rest of the world can't learn from our example - fat chance.

Hi Len!

Maybe I'm missing your post, but I seem to remember that you are in your 70's?

If so, you're still the youngest gamer at heart that I know and I mean that sincerely.

Deleted UserThanks for those kind words, Randy.

Actually getting near to the 80's ... 78 to be exact!

I still turn out the odd walkthru & UHS-File, but find lengthy concentration more difficult of late.
But I've been increasing my previous beta-testing jobs over the past 9 months.  The last 'commercial' one being "Law & Order", and then 3 'amateur' Freeware Games.
I'm actually better at those sorts of things than "solving" the games themselves.  It's the truth!

BTW ... Have you completely recovered from your brush with mortality, not so long ago?
Best of health .... Len.

Len,

Well, unfortunately my brush with mortality may begin anew next week.  The doctors have found something on my remaing 1/2 left lung and I'm going back into the hospital next week.

But the good news is that they don't yet know what it is, could be cancer, could be a tumor, could be a virus, could be an infection or could be scar tissue caused by the heavy doses of radiation I went through.  So I am having breathing problems again.

But hey, I'm 47 now and I plan on being here for 48 on August 13th.
did everyone noitice that date in case you want to send a present?).  That was August 13th

Yeah Take care and don't do anything stupid like walking through heavy radiation (why did you do that anyway??).

Don't you worry Randy, we'll probably have time to forget your birthday.

BTW The way the British government are going at the moment perhaps my medical records will be available to pretty much any average hacker on the net!

Ah... the bush and blair administrations never cease to amuse me. Ignoring north korean missile tests? What next!  ???

my warmest wishes to you randy!

You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

Wow. Im only 17 and I have been playing adventures since I was 10 years old. There really is a big age diffrence with adventure fans. When I went to best buy I saw like a 90 year old man in a wheelchair go to the games section and picked up Syberia and left.

Also I wish the best of luck to Randy.

He did pay for the game, did he?

Well, after reading these postings here, I think it´s quite possible that he (=the 90-year-old guy) bought Syberia for himself. Or maybe for his wife...

As I wrote earlier, I´m planning to spend my retirement days playing the latest Gabriel Knight games.
