| Deleted User | Hello Mavior,
I couldn't agree with you more about retired people being a great target audience. Unfortunately (in the US) the target groups (by the advertisers) are much younger. Most TV, many films and most music are aimed at the 18-40 year olds. Same with fashions. Buying clothing can turn me into a nearly homicidal maniac. So many of the things that I find are either micro-mini for the very young set or dull, drab and antiquated (in style).
Don't get me worng, there is nothing wrong with any generation but there are soooo many of us 50 and older who have a massive buying ability and I am not sure that we are addressed often enough.
Welcome to the JA Forum and please don't be a stranger. It seems that we have members now from around 16 to you at 71. It's very exciting (to me) to see such an age diverse group contributing so many ideas and information in such a harmonious manner.
Best regards, Harriet@JA

Status : Online | I have to say I’m surprised to see the age diversity here most forums I’ve been or go to are 17 or under anything over that was rare no wonder when I found this board most post’s seemed mature and I thought it would be a good place to strike up good conversation this certainly make’s a good change.
I’ve also been an avid adventure player a while I also played some of the commodore games but I can’t stand fps or strategies game’s any think else I can
Oh I’m 21 if that matters….
Be seeing ya

Status : Offline | I'm 71 years old and an aventure game addict Hi Mavior, Welcome to a great forum. As I said earlier I'm over 60 - 64 to be precise. Oddly enough I spoke to someone I have done some work for over the last 12 months the other day and mentioned that I'd just upgraded my video card and ram. He was wondering why I'd do this and I explained that I hadn't been able to play Syberia on the old system. To cut a long story short it turned out that he too plays games (he is 65). First person I've spoken to here that plays adventure games other than our son and daughter.
I think one of the best things about this forum (as someonelse mentioned) is perhaps the diversity in ages and the fact that it doesn't seem to make any difference, everyone is friendly and also very helpful with hints and suggestions etc.

Status : Online | I feel very welcome on this board. Thank you all!
I kind of guess that there are some members on this board who don´t live so far from me after all - across the gulf I think. Maivor even confesses that he is from Sweden: Lagavulin gave some hints that made me guess...BTW: I don´t actually recall when Sweden turned into right-sided traffic, was it 1965??
It´s early Sunday morning now - here in Finland I mean. There are not so many people to discuss with since America just got into bed
One thing: for me it´s a bit difficult to write in English. I don´t feel quite relaxed since I´m used to express myself in my writings - in my own language. I know I do mistakes in english grammar and it bothers me. I hope it doesn´t bother you (maybe it makes you laugh sometimes but I don´t mind...!)
God mårgon till Sverige också!

Thank you, (I'm a Swede) I don't think your english is that bad, your swedish it terrible though.
I misspell sometimes too, but I haven't got any complains yet.

Status : Online | Hello again Seikkailija! (Is there a short for that name??)
First of all, your English is excellent, don't you worry:-))) If the rest of the world would have to learn Finnish, there wouldn't be much communication going on between nations :-/
Second, Maivor happens to be a female name - I'm a grandmother of three wonderful grandchildren
Thirdly, Sweden change to right-hand traffic on the 3rd of September 1967, so you can safely drive a car here now :
Is it as difficult to get ahold of adventure games in Finland as it is in Sweden? I usually have to order my games from the US (through a friend with a Master Card) and that is quite expensive - the Swedish Crown being quite weak nowadays. Plus all the surcharges and freight, which most of the time amounts to as much as the price of the actual game.
Well, Seikkailija, I hope you have some good adventure games waiting for you to play away a glumy (I guess) Sunday.
Best of regards from Maivor

| Deleted User | I think that everyone here has a marvelous command of the English language. I'm very impressed. You guys are GREAT. I speak only English but I had 4 years of Latin when I was young (I am a registered nurse and Latin was a requirement for a nursing program when I was young). Many times my old Latin background is a benefit - it is the origin of many languages/words and it helps in breaking them down to determine their meanings.
My worst handicap is my spelling ( :'( like you haven't noticed :'(). It must be a short circuit in my brain but I can look a word up and five minutes later I will need to look it up again. I live with a dictionary on my desk along with a Franklin Spelling Ace. The spell check in the computer is a God send for me.

I hadn't realised myself in the relatively short time I've been here the main reason I've kept on returning on a daily basis is that the general level of fascinating folk who post here - that would be the excellent age range. I'm a baby-faced UK-based 26 year old, who's been gaming on the PC since the early/mid 90s and on earlier systems before that. I'd like to think we all make up a very unique unit of people from all over the world - a very rare thing and extremely addictive... there's no time to play the games!

Normally I live in Stockholm but since august 02 I have been living in Dublin. I dearly recomend a visit to Dublin. The only downside is that everything costs A LOT !

Hmm well I’m a care assistant not much different from a nurse same job roll only nurses are more qualified in different areas most of the time as for overworked we have a staff shortage need I say more? :-/
And Harriet I didn’t actually notice any mistakes as long as your posts are readable you shouldn’t worry too much about it.

I have been most impressed with the clarity of the posts on this forum. I guarantee I wouldn't make any sense in any other language - and often don't in English.
