As to your problem, I just checked (via UHS-hints) and it seems that I was mistaken about your words being incorrect.
So, in that case let's take a step back.
(I intend here to use spoiler tags to avoid... well, spoiling the game for any who may not have yet played.)
First of all:
Spoiler AlertAre you on Day 3, in the 12pm - 3pm time block? If you haven't reached that point yet, then it may simply be a matter of having Gabriel or Grace (or both) do something else instead, that puzzle's time having not yet come.
Second:
Spoiler AlertHave you completed the phrase "Et in Arcadia Ego"? What I gave there is not, I believe, the entire thing (and note that you should tell the game the solution). I think that this is done by first translating it from the Latin.
