The only hidden object game I have played was CSI :NY which I was fundamentally pre-disposed to hate because it was such a radical departure from the other CSI games..

However, I see that Frogwares brought out something similar for their Sherlock Holmes franchise and the reviews aren't at all bad. I was amused to see one of the screen shots has the same card playing automaton puzzle from The Silver Earring so I should be able to get past that part at least
I wonder if they have cobbled together other bits of earlier games for the other puzzles?

Its less than six of your English pounds on Amazon so I will add it as a Xmas stocking filler and not feel too bad if its a dud..

I've played it and it was really quite good. I liked having to compare the clues to link the suspect to the victim and crime scene. There were a few mini games or puzzles as well as hidden objects. And usually you could use one of the objects to find another.

I likedit and thought it was one of the more challenging of the HOGs I've played. I did find the clue-suspect association graph confusing though.
Check out the reviews for the game at Adventure Gamers and Gamezebo if you need more info.
