HOW TO USE:
Make a copy of your entire TEXTURES and MESHES folderS from Oblvion and put the copy in a seperate safe place. If you dont like the changes, you can just remove the textures AND MESHES foldeSr in your game files and replace it with the unchanged oneS.
Now, add CHANGES TO FIX FAXES:
From Folder A: Natural Faces TExtures
just put the entire contents of this folder INTO your Oblvion/data folder, the textures will go into where they are supposed to and the archiveinvalidation file will make sure they get used in your game.
This will fix the three main races, Imperials, Elves, etc.
Now, add the next set of folders, and files, from Folder B
babehair Corean Hair idkrr sarameyesNhairs4orignalrace
These files will fix hair, and faces even more, some tweaks and nice additions to eyes, and facial features
copy all of the files from Folder B into your Oblvion/data folder, this will place three esps into the data folder and more files into meshes and textures. Now fire up Oblvoin Launcher and choose the Data files selection. This will open up the list of esps active in game and allow you to turn on the new ones you just added...look for
babehair_EV.esp Corean_hair_for_Original_race.esp idkrrr_sarameyesNhairs4originalrace.esp
and put a check mark in the check box next to each entry.
start up game and look at the new faces..
If you want to do even more, try Folder C - Improved Facial Textures. This is a simple texture replacement with much higher resolution, repeat what you did for Folder A, make a copy of Textures folder and then drop the TExtures folder from Folder C INTO Data folder, this will add and overwrite what is already there and add the new textures.
Chris, the readme file is tell me something different, Perhaps it amounts to the same thing: Unzip the .txt files to your "Oblivion\Data" directory
Unzip the textures in the following directories: Oblivion\Data\Textures\Characters\DarkElf\headdarkelf*.dds Oblivion\Data\Textures\Characters\Imperial\headhuman*.dds Oblivion\Data\Textures\Characters\Orc\headorc*.dds
LATER: followed your directions. No changes yet. I'll troubleshoot and let know.

i included the original read me as that is the traddition to always keep the original read me present.
Folow this one:
FIXING OB FACE PACK BY CRIS.txt
and you shoulid be ok, drop texture folder INTO data folder and it will be combined with what is there already, say yes if it wants to overwrite, then put the invalidaiton.txt doccunent into the main Oblvion install folder....it will sit there and make sure the game uses these new textures.
then put the contents of folder B and Folder C into the data folder in sucession, again saying yes to overwriting.
These will all fix your main character face and hair, the second set of fixes are for the NPCs.
Most mods for Oblvion contain Textures and or meshes. To get them in the right place, the authors create nests of folders to be sure that the add ons go to the right place if you just drop the folders they give us into the Data folder....ie New textures are put into a Texture folder that is created with the correct sub folder tree inside to ensure your new changes to the right place if you just drop the add on Texture or Meshes folder INTO the data folder in the Oblvion game install directroyr...kind of like a game of chinese boxes, except you can meld the new files magically into the close box

Status : Offline | A question about Oblivion mods. I imagine most mods were made and tested to work with physical copies of the game. Can they work with digital download versions also? I ask because I see Steam has a good deal on Oblivion right now, but I didn't want to get it on Steam if I couldn't use any mods.

as long as you have access to the actual data folder, you can use mods but to use them you need to be able to put things into the datta folder and the main Oblvoin folder so you need to find where Steam puts things. I know it is easily possible to run Steam downloads off line so i would guess it may work ok.

Status : Offline | The mods you pointed me to are wonderful. Last time I played this game I focused strongly on Mage skills and rose to the top. This time I'm using my blade much more, although the Fighter's Guild is tough to get contracts from. Still, I'm finding (at least my low 2 level) that the sword is very effective if you are aggressive and you know how to block.
As for mods, the physical enhancements are really great. I would prefer even more, but what you (Chris) have linked me to are far superior.
The Lost Spires seems to merge well into the regular game play.
So I'm happily playing through again in a very new way.

Where would be my best place to grab it, and what do i need for it? I have a disc version of Ob patched up to speed. ..but i have a few mods that might clash..?

OMG, a 10 Gig download... I didn't know it was that huge.
Ok, I'm rethinking this. I already invested a huge amount of time into making my Morrowind very beautiful. In some instances, better than Ob - the faces, for instance.
I think i'd rather spend my time getting nicer Ob faces and additional quests such as lost Spires and so on.
Thanks for the trouble, at least now I've come to a decision. Since I'd heard about the Morroblivion project years ago, I've been drooling over the idea, but i've just realised that by now, I have my Morrowind looking stunning as it is.

You can get far better Morrowind using the MGE as you are Trav and anyone else. Please respect the rights of the developer and suppport only respectful mods that comply with and support the wishes of the developer, in this case, Bethesda.
The right way is aways the best way.
Re Mods for Oblvion, please ask any questions, adding mods is very easy and just about fool proof ...and we will be happy to help you find what you need.
