I'll admit that I like some of what I've heard and seen of it - the visual style looks distinctive, and I like the gameplay concept, in particular the use, if I recall correctly, of a particular colour to cue the player on the appropriate path (and thus hopefully avoiding leaving the player lost for direction).
One thing that might be worth noting is that - and I ask that someone with more experience of the game than I please correct me if I'm wrong - I seem to recall that the main character, although capable of taking weapons and fighting, they can also apparently be a hindrance, and so perhaps are better used sparingly, if at all - I think that the focus is on agility, manoeuvreability and evasion.
MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
*ahem*
Sorry.

The game play is fun to run and jump etc. If you do get motion sickness like my girlfriend who was pregnant at the time stay far far away cause you do all of the jumping and running etc in first person. I loved it and picked it up after two days of renting it from gamefly. I highly suggest picking it up. Also you can use guns but I never did I ran jumped and kicked my way through the whole game cause it fits the style of the game itself.

I didn't know that you can use guns! I thought it was just a knocking & jumping thing!

The game isn't long, but the experience isn't like something you'll find in any other game really. I loved it's style and storyline. The gameplay was extremely immersive with its focus on first person and making you feel like a part of the game.
You "can" use guns, but I found myself having more fun just trying to either run past enemies (if you can) or disarming thema nd tossing the guns aside.
The gameplay works sort of lilke a platformer-puzzle, if that makes sense. You basially need to figure out where to go (on the lower difficulty setting this is done via a good use of the color Red in the environment, but on the hardest it isn't).
Then once you know where to go you have to figure out how to get there.
Once you get the hang of the movement and how things work you'll find yourself running and pulling off moves quickly and you'll get right into the character and world.
It can get a little frustrating sometimes (I got stuck at one part, wondering where to go) but it's worth playing through, especially if you can get it for cheap.

I know you're not a big fan of action games, Traveller, but I think this one would be a fairly good one to start with: it's forgiving of error (without being insultingly so), and it's just plain fun.
While this would not apply to you, Taurnil may wish to be aware that one should disable PhysX unless one has an nVidia card. For whatever reason a hardware PhysX implementation is not autodetected, and if it's enabled the game runs much, much slower than it otherwise would on ATi hardware.
Once I finished the game, though, I didn't feel any pull to play it at a higher difficulty setting: the game is effectively the same, so there didn't seem much point to me. Considering that I finished the game in about three days' time, you may want to kep that in mind when weighing the price.

I'm not? :-? Ah, you're specifically referring to platformers, are you not, which require people to jump and swing around like monkeys... no, - I think we should qualify that i need to play these with a controller, and i've not always had a suitable working controller.
Now, I would like to know if this game will work with either my 360 controller for Windows, or with my Logitech Chillstream...

Well, i never realized the game actually has a story, so it's good to hear that it has in fact, got a good story! Well, i'll watch the game- i have a sneaky feeling the price might go down even more, but i'll be watching it with a hawk's eye - thanks for all the input, everyone. 8-)

Good acting helped a lot.

I sometimes really wish this website had an "evil smile" emoticon, because I really need it now, mr King.
You obviously did not read dear ChrisGer's "fix" for me, in the Jade Empire thread, which involved copying and pasting a single sentence into the .ini file.... *evil smile x 10* [smiley=angel_smiley.gif]
Which reminds me - I need to thank that dear man...

Ah well, if I see it at a low-enough price, I may well get it. Or may not. One or the other. ^^;

(Okay, I'm not exactly an "ATI-lover" - I just happen to have one in my laptop.)
And I will not eat my heart out. My mouth doesn't seem to reach that spot.
