Yeah, that trailer doesn't show squat about the actual game.
Nice piano theme though...
Cheers, Terry

Hmm... I'll admit that I was a little disappointed by the quality. However, it is, I think, an early trailer, and so hopefully something more impressive is to come along later. ^_^
It does, however, perhaps explain the lack of news: If they're only at the point of releasing a teaser trailer, then it's still rather early, and more dedicated marketing would presumably be expected later on, closer to actual release.
MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
*ahem*
Sorry.

However the delayed date and lack of any real info here bothers me. How far off is this game?

Usually cutscenes are far more about visuals than sound, but here the balance is altered somewhat. The effect is refreshing to my sensibilities, since long cinematics rendered as video files tend to make me impatient.
This has a better chance of integrating with the rest of the experience, since it requires more work from the player's gray matter to combine the mostly still images with the audio. Basically I believe that if done well, it actually has more potential in terms of immersion than plain old video.
P.S. By the way, this is actually the third trailer already rather than the second.

Technically it's the "first" trailer since the game changed devs
Also regarding the audio - I'm all for making it stand out if Robert Holmes is doing the music. I love his work.

Hmm... Fair enough, then.
Given that, I can see the quality of the artwork, and indeed, I think that it would work very well, but I'll also admit that I find some of the facial expressions to be less impressive than other aspects - not all (some of Sam's are excellent, I think), but some.
PS: Did anyone notice a face in the clouds, just before the moon appears?

Status : Online | Why is it adventure game companies can't hire proper PR people? Or web admins? Much like A Vampyre Story we were all confused about the date/progress until this trailer, and even then the enigmatic "2010" doesn't give much hope. Could be December 2010.
Then we have the website, which hasn't been updated in many moons. In fact it was 'downgraded' by removing all other languages but german and Jane's Blog lost it's link.
AVS was the same way, even a week before release it was foggy, had TWO websites (both were outdated even AFTER release) and started magically appearing on digital distributors at various price points without any fanfare.
Christ. Just hire someone to talk to the fans and update the website every so often. Get your crap together and people wouldn't be so impatient if you ask me. Learn from 3DRealms - area 51'ing your game is a bad move and can only backfire.

I don't have anything against those types of cutscenes IF it fits with tihe game(IE Max Payne/comic-noir style), but from the info we have on the game it just feels like the type of a game that would be better suited to you know, actual movement/animation.
I get the feeling that if this is how it is it was done not because of the game/Jane wanting it that way, rather because of budget reasons (Far cheaper to do).
It makes it come off looking like one of those Flash based storyboards or something.
The audio is good, but it just comes off making it look rather cheapish with no animation minus the first scene with the water.
I mean, with the story I just feel that animation/movement in scenes would help give you that sense a lot better, you can't get it as good with just still frames and audio.

Why, there is precedent - Gabriel Knight. In fact the prelude comics even add to that idea, both GK1 and GK3 came with them. Jane likes that graphic novel style of storytelling.

See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWdmmu91jGY
This looks more comic book like Still-frame, with 0 animation to the characters and simply overlayed light/rain and that's it.
