Status : Offline | People - I finally got Heaven! It arr. this noon, but I just installed it a few moments ago as I was out all day at the mall.
Heaven installed smoothly, no probs, in spaceship waiting for crash, but just keep riding, riding, riding....
Would sure appreciate a walkthrough and a mouse cursor explaination.

I am Paul McCauley - creator of Heaven. I thought I would log on to give you a hand. You can ask me anything about the game. You can e-mail me directly at sales@genesisworks.com or talk though the forum here. The opening shuttle login is different than most games (we wanted to make the login feel like part of the game vs a static separate experience).
So how to get out of the Shuttle. You are on board the USS Genesis trapped in an endless asteroid field.
Look toward the back of the ship. The cursor with the "star burst" is the "go to" cursor. The spinning circular one is "Touch" cursor. There are only 2 cursors. So, go toward the back of the shuttle and you'll see a input station that has input fields saying "Empty" this is where you type your name for game saves. Click on "New Game" (it's a red square button). Then click on the keypad letters to type in your name. Use the keypad in the shuttle (not your keyboard). After you type in your name, click on "Play Game". This will get you into the real game.
Remember to follow the golden compass (We call it the Magic compass) it will be of great assistance - you have to pan down to see it. (it's not in the shuttle) only visible when you get to Heaven.
Good luck, Paul McCauley Genesis Works LLC.

And if you check out the other thread you'll see there is a serious complaint about the clue/puzzles that you can maybe answer as well.

Status : Online | Good Questions:
1. Axis - a lot of talk about her. Well, like everything in a video game, things evolve; they start out small and end up big. Short story - after the sets were designed, we discovered she was being dwarfed by them. The sets are so grand and "Over the Top" as it were, that Axis had to match it. We also wanted to make sure she felt somewhat "Super Heroish" we wanted her to feel more "woman" like than "girl" like. Her out fit was made all white - as there are Biblical reference to people wearing all white clothes. Her design actual presented many technical problems - just animating her was difficult. When you see her in "action" in the game I think you'll see she fits in just right.
2. As for the puzzles: Yes, I read that post. Well, the game starts out easy and gets hard. We wanted to make sure the player plays all the way to the end and not give up. I can promise you "Thomasbc" comments will be proven wrong. I'm sure he hasn't played nearly 1/5 of the way through. He will be asking for help. At first Axis is very present to help the player - with audio hints and visuals. After the first level or two, things change quite a bit. Good luck Thomasbc. I actual worried that there aren't enough hints. You'll see (solving the Musical trumpets level - good luck)
3. Religious themes: Yes, the game has strong religious themes. Get ready for it. It is a game about Heaven - a Biblical Heaven. It's not so much preachy (although there is some of that) as it is Visual. Golden streets, Pearly gate, ect..
More Later. Paul

We'll be updating it as we hear of people having trouble. This first one is for those who had trouble getting out of the Shuttle.

Just another question. What is the purpose behind such a religious theme? Is it intended as an evangelical aid, of for primarily religious audience or perhaps, giving the simplicity of the first level, as an introduction to gaming for people not previously exposed to the genre who may perhaps require only approved topics?
I'm just curious, that's all. Religion polarises people and can repel an audience.

Yes, although the New Testament doesn't have quite as much sensure on sexuality than the Old Testament does, and the game is obviously more New Testament orientated than Old Testament, I find it rather strange, at first glance, that a supposedly "religious" game would focus so heavily on sexuality. But then, people will get the game to ogle the scantily-clad angel and to check out the nice graphics, so I suppose that is quite a clever way to draw people in.
Still, is modesty not supposed to be a Christian virtue? Just asking... :
Hey, Caroline, you might have noticed that the angel Michael has been thrown in as some eye-candy for us females.. 8-)

I mean it's right on their website Beauty and a picture of Barbie.
It sends another message to the kids and people insecure about their looks that Heaven's ideal is an unrealistic Barbie model and Ken doll.
Could any real person live up to this depiction of gold statues, gleaming streets and perfect bodies. It's no wonder the game looks devoid of characters.
We are all going to hell.......

Don't let the "Ken" Michael make you feel insecure, Lucien... he might be a good match for Axis, but most of us earthly females don't set our standards quite that high... in fact, I did find him a bit on the "too" muscular side
I think the bible does say somewhere that we will get a "glorified" body when we go up to Heaven. So what fun would a glorious body be, if you can't show it off, eh, eh?

Quite. Glad to hear you confirm it. 8-)
I, on the other hand, can think of a few improvements on mine - but then us women are never satisfied with ourselves, are we.. :-/

Then again, in a Heaven where sex is pointless (because there are no babies and we don't want fornication) perhaps we'll become hermaphrodites and combine the best features from both genders - boobs AND muscles, like this....

What d'you think Traveller? We can open our own jars? See how dainty her wrists still are? And she probably has a really sexy husky voice....

I like this game's portrayal of heaven: in my kinda heaven, everyone looks the age and the way that they prefer to, and women will still like nuturing babies, so some babies that have died as babies, will remain babies so the women have something to go: "cootchie cootchie coo" over, and sex will just be for fun, not procreation, (and maybe for self-expression, too?) just like seems to be the suggestion in the Heaven game.... :
Well, especially since I don't really like the hermaphrodite idea, mostly because of the images your "bodybuilder " has conjured up for me.... [smiley=scared.gif]

There are more of them too http://www.onemorebite-weightloss.com/amazon-women.html
They use steroids to get like that. You have to wonder why. Lifting weights is a lot of work, and steroids are bad for you, so it's not like they're exercising for their health.

Don't get me wrong, it is NOT that I have no standards, its just that there are a lot of places to look for beauty other than the obvious.
BTW, I still have NOT received my game. I know its Sunday and I know tomorrow is a federal holiday, but I wanted to take the game with me on my 7 week trip to Detroit. And since my plane leaves Tuesday morn, I'm gonna be out of luck.
Okay, sorry for the interruption, carry on with the discussion . . . . .
