Status : Online | Hi, I did finally get it to run on ME. First, I know I disabled the autorun menu...that hung every time. I used explore to read the CD and clicked on the setup that way. Also, make sure nothing else is running. Then, I think my nemesis was sound. I had to try different DMA settings. I probably haven't helped but I can sympathise at least!

Status : Online | Hi, this is how I got it to run on ME, maybe it will work for XP as well. - open a DOS Window - type Install2 next to your CDROM drive (D - this allows some prompts to come up, install it to your CANDORA directory (it will create it) - Then after install, type C:\Pandora>Pandora
this allows the game config screen to come up. I was able to auto detect my sound card (Soundblaster Pro compatible).
so you can start the game from DOS anytime.
The autostart hung everytime I tried to click on the icon from windows...but it seems to work ok so far from DOS.
Good Luck!

Status : Online | I have the some problem. I really want to play Pandora Directive again, but it won't work.
I managed to run it in XP with the help of VirtualPC. You can find this at www.connectix.com.
The problem is that Pandora doesn't run in Win98. At least I wasn't lucky enough. But it works in DOS. Next problem for me was that I really don't have any DOS versions. I don't know where I put them. I booted up with a bootable Win98-CD and chose the option "start with CD support". I had DOS working now with CD support and installed a mouse driver from a disk. From this point I installed Pandora. The sound is choppy, because Pandora wouldn't accept my soundcard, but the game works. It still freezes or shuts down.
I'm not very good at DOS or older Windows versions. I can't figure out how to get the sound right.

Status : Offline | I have played Pandora Directive and Killer Moon on Windows 98, however I did have a bit of trouble with crashing etc. Unfortunately I don't have it installed at present, but from what I can remember I had to play it from Dos, but instead of just typing the usual comands, had to type something different. Sorry this is being very vague, but from memory if you thoroughly read the help section on the disk it does tell you what you should type here. I don't have time at present to re-install it and find it for you myself, but will have a go later. Hope this is at least a bit of help.

Status : Offline | I looked at the "help" section on the Pandora Directive cd. and what I had to do was after the Dos prompt, type Pandora /J. Don't know if this would work with XP or whether it was just a quirk in my computer, however I did have to do the same thing with Killer Moon back when I used Windows 95, but I've played them both on Windows 98 - only through Dos. though.
