Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere. Does anyone know what is happening with this game? Surely it hasn't slipped into the precipice with Lighthouse-Int - it was pretty near done (finally)? Still has a release date on Amazon uk incidentally.

Last I heard it had already been released - just not in English.  I too was waiting for it but I got fed up.

Akella's website for Dead Mountaineer's Hotel hasn't been updated since 2008.  It still lists Lighthouse Interactive as the publisher.

:-? :-?  Well,  I hope that something happens soon because it was briefly available for pre-order back in February, so I duly placed my order and  paid.  I looked a few weeks later and noticed that it was no longer a pre-order item.  I've purchased quite a few games from here as I just can't wait until they become available in Australia
we're sooooo far behind everybody else)  and have been looking forward to this game since it was first mentioned.  If I hadn't already paid for it I think I would have given up waiting by now.

The screenshots remind me of Syberia they are so detailed and so beautiful. [sigh]  I just really fancy a walk through the snow...

Akella's website lists Dead Mountaineer's Hotel as having been released in 2007, however, I saw this "preview" dated June 8th, 2009 on their website:

http://www.mysterymansion.co.uk/article_info.php?articles_id=13

Akella Games were kind enough to send us a 'Work in progress' copy of Dead Mountaineers Hotel for review and critique.

Thanks for the link Mara.  Nice to know that there's light at the end of the tunnel.  Still wish that I hadn't pre-ordered though,  I could have spent my $$ on a game that was definitely available.

Pre-orders aren't processed until the game is shipped, right?  Can't you just cancel?

Hi Halcyon,  I didn't even think of that at the time that I placed my order.  I was ordering two other games at the time, both of which were in stock and were shipped immediately
you've got to love the service - whenever I order games they arrive within a week, and I'm in Australia!)
ead Mountaineer's Hotel appeared on the payment page, and it was included in the total price so I paid quite happily.  I don't in any way blame Interact because they were only acting on the information available to them.

So is it time to officially give up hope on this ever being released in English?  I've been looking forward to it for a long time and it seems we were so close to release a number of times.  Might make for an interesting article or interview for JA+ to get to the bottom of what happened.
