| Deleted User | Although it is the same characters, the story itself does not follow on, so it is indeed quite possible to play Gabe K 2, without having played Gabe Knight 1. The second game is FMV, so it's quite different presentationwise from the first game.
Of course no 2 is worth playing, but I admit I had to consult a walkthrough about halfway through the game, and I suggest you do the same when you feel you have become pretty much stuck, since the story itself is worth sacrificing a bit of your pride in doing so. And anyway, even if you do check out a walktrough somewhere in the middle of the game, there will still be enough challenge left for further on! [smiley=angel_smiley.gif] [smiley=skull_laugh.gif]

Mainly because even though it's a seperate story you'll be missing out on the character development of Gaberial and others from the first game.

There's a speed slider in the settings panel which has as an effect greatly increasing Gabriel's walk speed. There is such a speed setting going back at least as far as King's Quest in Sierra games.

I started GK2, and it does seem to be a better game. The cheesy acting only adds to the experience
Thanks for the advice on the walktrough. As long as the puzzle makes sense, i should have the patience to finish it, but if it's one of those illogical puzzles, then i'll use a guide.

Yeah, well, not to mention that Gabriel Knight 1 really has a very good story, even better (to me personally) than the one in GK 2, and somehow the story also involved your protagonist more closely.  Well, I thought so, anyway.)

As my girlfriend found out to her dismay when she tried to play the game with the stock Win16 executable, there's a nasty dead-end bug in Chapter 4 which can trip you up.

I've also read that the game may freeze at the intro which is caused by incompatable codec. you can replace the problematic avi in the games dir with another one and rename it.
