I've happen to have the ROM for Maniac Mansion for my NES emulator on my computer but have for awhile been avoiding to play it.  The reason is that I have a feeling that the game has to be completed in a certain amount of time or it's Game Over.  I like to know if my asumption about the game is right or wrong.

I dont believe there is an overall time limit to finishing the game, although certain puzzles through out the game may require some urgency. Even so, it does not take away from the enjoyment.

The game is rather difficult and you characters can die leaving you with no means to finishing the game. Save often.

If you can, you should play the PC version because it is better. The NES version of MM is famous for being rediculously censored.

If you're going to play Maniac Mansion, I'd recommend checking out the freeware fan made Maniac Mansion Deluxe for the PC instead. It's a very faithful conversion, the controls are better, and so are the graphics.
