I didn't come up with these, I collected them from a larger list of Murphy's Laws related to the military. But some of them seemed really appropriate for action gamers, as you'll see.

Friendly fire - isn't.
If it's stupid but it works, it isn't stupid.
If your attack is going really well, it's an ambush.
The enemy invariably attacks on two occasions:
When they're ready.
When you're not.
The easy way is always mined.
Teamwork is essential; it gives the enemy other people to shoot at.
If you are short of everything but the enemy, you are in the combat zone.
When you have secured the area, make sure the enemy knows it too.
Incoming fire has the right of way.
If the enemy is within range, so are you.
The only thing more accurate than incoming enemy fire is incoming friendly fire.
Anything you do can get you killed, including nothing.
Mines are equal opportunity weapons.
Sniper's motto: reach out and touch someone.
When in doubt, empty your magazine.
Whenever you have plenty of ammo, you never miss. Whenever you are low on ammo, you can't hit the broad side of a barn.
The seriousness of a wound (in a fire-fight) is inversely proportional to the distance to any form of cover.
Odd objects attract fire. You are odd.
Whenever you lose contact with the enemy, look behind you.
Flashlights, lighters and matches don't just illuminate the surrounding area; they illuminate you too.
There are few times when the enemy can't hear you: When he's dead, you're dead, or both.
Addendum: When he's not there, when you're not there, or both.
Happiness is a belt fed weapon.
C-4 can make a dull day fun.
If you can think clearly, know exactly what's happening, and have total control of a situation in combat, then you're not in combat.
Keep telling yourself: You're not surrounded, you're in a target rich environment.

Heh. These are fun. Those all work for FPS and action games, but what about:

Murphy's Laws for Adventure Gamers

While there may be simple objectives, there is no such thing as a simple solution.

Rube Goldberg is your co-pilot.

A sharp wit is better than a sharp sword every time. Unless the puzzle you're trying to solve requires a sharp sword.

(Some Adventure Games) As innocuous actions may randomly result in your horrid death, your best move is probably to do nothing.

Murphy's Laws for RPG Gamers

If you're a mute, androgynous teenager who just lost everyone and everything they care about in a horrible conflagration . . . Congratulations! You're the Hero!

Everything wants to kill you.

Whatever doesn't kill you earns you experience points.
