Around two weeks ago I went into the gaming store and low and behold, there sat Culpa Innate and Dreamfall for $4.99 each.  There was a buy 2 get 1 free sale going on and I couldn't find another game in that $4.99 range so I decided to wait. It bugged the heck out of me all night long and the next day I went back to find they were both gone. I've been kicking myself in the butt ever since.

Anyone else ever have an experience like this?

Deleted UserThis is incredible!

First scenario:  You've already played these games and were thinking about getting extra copies.

Second scenario: You haven't played these games and you were dumb enough to think you could get an even better deal.

Or third scenario:

I had never played these games and they never really interested me to begin with - but at that price I might just give them a try.

Real scenario: your inner self said 'hold on there buddy... you don't really want to play these two games, let's hold off and see if you can find a third game for free that you do want to play that will sweeten this deal so you can stomach even attempting to play the sequel to a game known as The Longest Conversation which in reality you'll play for 30 minutes and then start a war on the forum when you blast the heck out of it.  Besides, for $10 you can get a lot more fun out of a box of Kreamy Doughnuts....' [smiley=devil_smiley_grintail.gif]

Admit Ivinia, I'm right.

One thing I've regretted is not buying the Quest for Glory Anthology when I saw it back in 1999. It was either $29.99 or $39.99, which I thought was too much. But now you see it for over $100 on ebay for a boxed version.

I recall this party 30 or so years ago -  two for one... I've never forgiven myself either

What?

I recently saw Riddle of the Sphinx and The Omega Stone for $6.99 at Target and I bought them!  Not my cups of tea, shall we say.  So now I'm kicking myself.  I should have known when I saw Sphinx spelled as Spinx on the Omega Stone box.

Me too...

but it was actually 8 drink tickets for $1 and I don't remember anything after the tickets ran out.

Scene of the Crime: The (infamous) Blue Parrot Bar in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Recommended Attire: As little as possible without actually getting arrested for indecent exposure

Known Accomplices: The entire crew of "Rabbit" (the SORC Class D champion that year with six decisive wins in a six-race series)

Resulting Criminal Charges: None, but we got really lucky that night... or so I hear.

Cheers, Terry

Don't feel too bad, Ivinia. Several years ago, I actually had Grim Fandango in my hand and it was really, really cheap. But I said Nah, I don't need that, and put it back.

I've never seen another copy anywhere locally and the game is even difficult to find online unless one wants to pay an exorbitant price for it.

I really know how to blow an opportunity...

There's actually quite a few cheap oldies. Sometimes you'll be forced to pay upwards of $50, but it's not so bad.

I managed to snag QFGV (box, manual and all) ,Grim Fandango and Full Throttle.

$50 is pretty bad for me.

$50 netted me a nearly mint Complete Ultima VII box (lost everything but the cd/manual and needed a replacement). I'd say it was a steal personally, given how much I cherish it.

Oh, I didn't mean $50 is bad for getting older games you really, really want.

I meant bad in the sense that I'm usually so broke I can barely pay attention.
