| Deleted User | ~~ Terry ~~ ... No Traveler, I'm just bracing for what appears to be an inevitable b-i-t-c-h of a new year rushing at us headlong like hellish hangover on an ice-cold day . I am also not looking forward to 2009 --- or to be more honest... I'm terrified. But probably for different reasons from you --- but stuff for Off-Topic not here !

But whatever's coming at us will come at us no matter how I might feel about it, so I intend to try to make the best of things.
I'll also be escaping into games whenever possible. This is something I already do, in fact. I find gaming to be quite therapeutic.

You fight like a dairy farmer.
Really? [smiley=boggled.gif] Wrong. Your answer should have been - How appropriate, you fight like a cow.
If you did not know that, you need to get some culture.

Same goes for you.
On topic: There are no AGs I'm anticipating with extreme eagerness. But I guess my top three would be:
Gray Matter (Jane Jensen) Still Life 2 (Original was quite well done, if a bit stayed) Three Cards To Midnight (Tex Murphy; written by writers)
Some others: Heavy Rain, Alan Wake.

The latter. More specifically, play "The Secret of Monkey Island". Of course, you may also fight like a cow, but I wouldn't know about that.

If it is the latter, then
#1. Rhem 4 #2. Grey Matter #3 tie Prominence/Coven/Corrosion: Cold Winter Waiting/DarkFall III
That all being said, Do I think any of these will be released in 2009....No!

It does appear that 2009 isn't set up to be the best year for adventure games :-/ The ones I have chosen do appeal to me quite a lot though.

I remember hearing about a concept (something from Neil Gaiman?) involving a library filled with books that were never written. Sounds like you're trying for a store filled with games that were never made. Good list, it's one I can get behind.

In the Sandman series by Neil Gaiman, Morpheus the Dream Lord has a library of every book ever dreamt of but never written, from The Bestselling Romantic Thriller I Used to Dream About on the Bus That Would Sell A Million Copies and Mean I'd Never Have to Work Again to classic authors's imagined works, such as Christopher Marlowe's The Merrie Comedie of the Redemption of Dr. Faustus, or The Emperor Over the Sea by C.S. Lewis. It's travel section contains such gems as My Year on the Dread Plateau of Leng and Ancient Kadath for 20 Dollars a Day. There is even an annex that contains every book actually written, although, of course, it is (relative to the rest of the library) quite small.
Of course the librarian's name in Lucien, it's where I got my username.

1 - Gray Matter (I wish I could tone down my hype, I don't want to be dissapointed...) 2 - Wallace & Gromitt Episodes 3 - Sam & Max Season 3 (*If* it is released in 2009 of course)
