Anyone play this yet?  I think there was demo out a while back that had a few issues. I know there is a review here, but as much as I respect my fellow JA reviewers, I don't often see eye-to-eye with Shannon's opinion on some of these games - no offense! :-*

Ok, there was a demo...and a preview written...by ME!  Crap, I'm getting old and starting to forget things...

So anyway, how was the game?

Deleted UserJust started it, looks VERY spooky/scary, -very atmospheric. I've got too many games going though, so don't have enough time to play it properly just yet.
The movement seems rather similar to the Myst-like slide-show, with animations. Looking forward to playing more of it.

A bit easy and short, but clever and a lot of fun.

Really? Shannon's review said 20-30 hours.  I couldn't imagine it being that long as none of his other games hit that mark.

I don't know about others and I havn't played this one yet but if a story is good and sucks me it I will go much slower and enjoy every second of it so the play time is a very hard figure to come up with and will very greatly depending on how they are enjoying the game.

I'm enjoying this one, To me it's a feeling of  Myst .  I'm not sure why but  7th Guest came to mind.  A bit buggy.  No major issues though.

Thanks. What kind of bugs? I seem to recall some issues with the playback of the voice acting from the preview. Does that still exist?

Maybe you wouldn't call them bugs, but when launching the game, it can be sluggish,or tempermental and when you walk away and the game is running when you come back the screen will lock and flicker, and sometimes "ctrl alt del" is your only hope... But if you save often, it's not an issue.  Things like that.  I really exceed what the specs are, so maybe it's partially the fact that it can still run on  95/98, that causes the glich.  But it's nothing that makes me not enjoy the game.  I like puzzles that make you find a clue and hurry back to try it out,  rather then ripping your hair out.

Hmmm, I've had games that I've worked on that did something similar, but that was because I was running the debug/dev version.  Not sure if William wrote his own engine for these games. I hope they didn't accidentally publish the debug version of the game!

I've had no problems at all with either of the Last Half of Darkness games, but then my game computer isn't connected to the internet so it doesn't have an antivirus, software firewall, or any other security software on it.

Check ***here*** for some possible issues -- like conflicting codecs -- and their solutions.
