Yes, it's that time of year when young people my age who applied early to various educational institutions of higher learning finally hear about the status of their admission applications.

I am proud to say that NYU has accepted me as an Early Decision candidate for the class of 2013.
I plan on accepting their offer and attending the school next year to study journalism and education.

And even while I move on to a new phase of my life -- one of the most exciting, I'm told -- I still plan to remain a staff writer here, so I'll be back for at least the next four years!

.

Congratulations Ryan.

You should have a great time attending Burt Lancaster, Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen, Oliver Stone, Joel Coen, Ang Lee and Angelina Jolie's old school.

Cheers, Terry

Congratulations Ryan!  [smiley=clap.gif]
i'm about to start collegue too you know, but here in my country (Argentina) is a little different, we have the university of Buenos Aires "UBA" that is one of the best universities we have and it's public so anyone can go and study want they want, totally free, the government finances it.
Everyone makes mistakes. The trick is to make them when nobody is looking.

Yes, I'm afraid I'm all too aware of the governments of foreign countries paying for education ... shame it doesn't happen here!!
Congrats to you, as well!

What great news.
Not all foreign countries fund education.  In Australia we have the option of paying up front with a discount or paying when we graduate - with no interest but increases for inflation.

It used to be free here.  Since they introduced student loans we have seen our universities source students from overseas who they can charge full-price (more than we pay) which also helps fund the universities.
